Default Anyone here Golf? Need help picking a Driver...

I'm in the market for a new driver and I'm kind of up in the air on which to get. I have always been partial to TaylorMade, but I here Ping has got some really good stuff

I'm looking at TaylorMades new Burner Driver. I went to that store Golfsmith the other day, and they have the indor driving range with the cameras and stuff, and I drove 305yds with it! Then this past weekend I went golfing and one of the guys I got paired up with let me use his TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver and that puppy was sweet!

Any feedback anyone? Thanks!!

btw.....the most important thing about the driver is the shaft, so find the one that fits your swing speed.

For sure! My current Driver (Cleveland) has a regular shaft and it flexs like a rubber band! The r7 I hit with the other day had an extra-stiff shaft and I love it.

When I was at Golfsmith, I don't know if it was my club speed or my ball speed, but it was clocked @ 96mph!

The Taylor Made burner with a great shaft will surely be a great match up. Since the new r7 CGB just came out the price of the burner dropped so, it's better for the pocket book lol.

well good luck and enjoy!

Any particular driver? The Golfsmith by my house has just about every driver to use in the driving range, but i don't want to try out like 30 drivers.

here is a list of great drivers imo.....

Ping rapture (forgiving driver with a loud bang)
ping g10 (just like the ping g5 except updated version)
taylor made r7 super quad (for better players, very similar to the previous r7/r5 heads)
taylor made burner (forgiving with a large face)
callaway ft-i (if you like a square driver)

I've heard good things about the TaylorMade r7 Super Quad, but I don't think I'm good enough to justify a $500+ driver! The TaylorMade Burner is on sale for $279.99.

Stiff or Extra Stiff.... Last time I was clocked @ 96mph (I think... might have been ball speed).

Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard or for a stiffer tip get a white board 63-X or S

or

Fujuikura Speeder

you need to get on a launch monitor to get your launch numbers (Club head speed, Ball speed, launch angle and spin) before you get a shaft, you'll save yourself a headache and whole bunch of money.
