Advice Please, looking for the best tent for the money
I am looking for the best bang for the buck, lightweight, 2 person tent, for around the $250 range. Any advice from you "outdoors" types would be good appreciated.
Easy setup, waterproof, mesh et cetera, build quality are musts... I've looked into Sierra Designs and The North Face Roadrunner 23 so far. |

Three or four seasons?
Where is LBC to judge that fourth (winter) season? Lightweight as in backpacking or as in car camping? I have three separate tents as I carry a different tent for spring/summer/fall then I do for winter. Here in California it doesn't rain nine months of the year but it does rain a few times in the winter and we'll get some pretty good winds year round.

I am most likely looking for a 3 season tent. I don't see myself sleeping on a glacier anytime soon.
Mostly I am looking for an all around comfortable tent that is lightweight enough to lug around. This will be my first nice tent and I do hope on using it for years to come, if I need a warmer tent later I can get it then. I would like the tent to do well in wind, future burning man trip ![]() As far as camping in Long Beach, the weather is pretty temperate so I can probably just sleep under the starts here. |
