well, apparently even two blind squirrels can get a nut every now and then. lightening striking twice, god bestowing grace, some other odd coincidence, two kids get a hole in one....

every day the guy/gal who hits the lottery experiences similar odds...particularly in the "several state lotteries".

(Still....awesome as hell for a golfer who never had a hole in one and eagles are rare....

Eagles arent that rare, but Holes-in-one certainly are.

As for it happening on the same hole, I can see it happen and back to back I can see it happen. I was playing with some friends of mine and one guy hit it to a foot and thenext guy hit it to 6 inches, then I was next and holed out. It can happen. As for not believing a VP of the PGA tour, come on, what does he have to gain by not telling the truth. He has way more to lose by doing it. If it was ever found out that he lied then he would probably lose his job......

How about a hole in one on a Par 4? I was golfing with a buddy of mine who participates in the Remax long drive competition out in Vegas. Not sure if he still does. Anyway, 280 par 4 over water and sand everywhere. He put's it in with a 1 IRON. Freaking crazy, we didn't realize it went in until we got up there and couldn't find the ball and eventually looked in the cup.

Nice!!! I have driven a couple par fours....never had one fall can only hope! I lipped out for double eagle on a par five once. Personally I think the double eagle on a par five is the hardest thing to do!!!! Two great shots as opposed to one.

had a similar situation. Back in 1994 (I was 12 at the time) a friend of mine and myself were playing a local course. The second hole (Par 3- 170-ish yards) was somewhat difficult. The real issue was the fact that the tee box was about 50-60 feet below the green.

I took out an iron and made pretty decent contact but because of the elevation change, we had no idea it went in until we went up to the green and couldn't find the ball. It took us a few minutes to realize that it was actually in the cup. In retrospect that makes sense since it was a pretty good shot and there was little chance I flew it any further.

What was great is that there were people about 65 yards away on another hole who started walking in my direction after I took it out to congratulate me.

It's funny...I still have the ball and I went back to the tee box to retrieve the broken tee.

The ball was marked RAM 3. The tee was just your average white bag of tees you can buy at any pro-shop. The clubs were my first set. An odd number iron set and woods made by Dynatour with a matching green bag.

I am getting married next August and my friend (also Mike) will be on of my groomsman for the occasion.

A hole-in-one with average equipment and a 12 year old's swing? Quite unlikely. Being great friends for 15+ years? Even less so...

Their dad should have bought a lotto ticket that day, crazy odds but congrats to them! Why does it seem like younger players always get the holes in one? I had one when I was like 14 or 15 and none since then and I hover around a 0-2 handicap!

No matter how good you are, holing out on a par three is LUCK. The better you are the better chances you will have but it is pure luck when you actually hole it out. Thats my opinion anyways. My dad is a very good golfer and has been playing for a very long time with no holes-in-one to show for it. I wish I could give him one so he could say he has one. He has been with me for two of mine which I think is pretty cool.

Short par 4's, sure it could happen I hit many greens on short par 4's just recently one was playing 287 and with my driver I ran to the back of the green.. hit enough and 1 might actually fall.

as for this double ace story, I’m very surprised there were no other witnesses, golf courses especially ones like TPC would have many other golfers on the course, where someone had to of witnessed the event.. not saying it didn’t happen cause why would a VP lie

Things just as crazy have happened before in golf. I read before where in a small tournament the first hole was a par 5. On both days of the tournament the same guy got a 2 on the whole.

+1 you'd figure TPC Sawgrass would be swarming with golfers.

Anyhow, yeah I can see it happening. You see some wacky stuff if you've played enough golf.
