Honestly though, some of those girls look scary(not in a bad way), but you feel they are way to young to be competing.

I think they are the legal age to compete. I always thought that women gymnastics stunts these kids development. No way you can put that much stress on a young female body like that, without it affecting their development later on in life. I have no proof...just my suspicion.

I have never seen a Chinese girl, look her age, nor any gymnastics girl, regardless of nation. I dont think China would risk cheating in something so important to their country. Sounds like more American rumors to discredit the Chinese.

They've been talking about it on the news and radio. Granted Chinese girls do look young, but look at the physical differences between the Chinese, Americans, Germans, Australians,etc....They are not of age. And whos to challenge the Chinese government about the age of these girls?

I agree. you can look at the difference with the american girls... much larger, more muscled.. the faces... it's ridiculous.

but why would they? what advantage does a 13 year old have?

Another announcer said that Chinese girls are "taken" away and put into "machines" (I know he is referring the program) to learn. Makes it all sound evil--again another attempt to discredit.

It's true to some extent they are "taken", but it's their career and it offers a better life. No different really, then the Americans being tutor because practice consumes too much time for public school. They too only know gymnastics.

The rules state that those girls have to be 16 years of age in an Olympic year. I count at least 3 girls on the Chinese gymnastics team who are NO WAY IN HELL anywhere close to 16 years of age. Not only is the Chinese government one of the worst most oppressive governments on the face of this Earth, they have to cheat to win. And please don't tell me that using younger girls is not an advantage, in gymnastics, younger girls do have an advantage over the older more experienced girls.

And for those who say that "it's all American propaganda, the Chinese would NEVER cheat, boo hoo," they need to get literate and pick up some history books. During their heydays, Communist nations like the former U.S.S.R., East Germany, the present China, et. al., were INFAMOUS for cheating in sports, a la, PEDs, blood doping, faking passports and birth records, etc., so please spare me the "China is innocent" naive tripe.

They want to win the gold so bad that the government even changed the age of those Chinese girls on the passport. I don't know man, that is just ****ing dirty. Keep up with the news and radio dude. True Chinese history and much of the Asian culture are big in honor and loyalty. But when it come to something like this, don't count on it. Asia countries are some of the biggest in corruption, when something this big happening, it's all about the result they won't even give a damn how they get there. It even worst in communist country.

Do you even hear about the story about the girl who sing at the opening ceremony? ****, that girl on the stage its not even her own voice!! The girl who really sing the song is somewhere else, to the Chinese she is not pretty/cute enough so they find some other girl to be on stage.

Smaller, lighter and more nimble. They can also place themselves tighter in certain corners of the floor excercises, smaller feet leaves them more room on that long 6in bar(cant think of the name)
