Official NHL 2008-2009 Season Thread

Since there was a NFL and MLB season thread i thought i would start a NHL 2008-2009 season thread. Post up what you hockey fans are looking forward to this season and what you expect to happen with your favorite team. Pre-Season starts soon!(ps: sorry if this is a repost.)

sundin is a ****ing idiot, what hes doing to not only the leafs but the NHL is selfish, we (the leafs) need to either move on or have a commitment from the guy, I hope the ****er retires now.. sad thing is I was defending him at the end of last season.

we made some key moves, at least in the selling/trading category, nothing really happening in the buying group.. but hey, we have Finger for 3.5 mill/year lol unreal

Well seems the Leafs are finally moving McCabe, seems like a trade will be announced today moving him to Florida for Mike Van Ryn, yupi doo... this guy is smaller, only 4 yrs younger and less talented, and dont forget injury prone, great trade guys !!

I dont know why moving McCabe was on the top of the list of players to move

yea i heard about that. Mcabe was waiting for his extra $2milliom before he made it official. Mike Van Ryn was out 28 games last year because of wrist injury. They said hes "Fully" cured but who knows. I wonder whats going on with Shanahan? First i hear he might be going back to the devils, but then he wants to stay in NY.

So the trade is official, McCabe is gone, he was also out with a wrist injury last season, not sure how many games he missed atm, id have to check, enough.

No Shanahan news floating around here, havnt heard anything about him, speaking of the Devils wtf have they done in the offseason? they obviously needed more scoring power, did they improve on that?

To be honest I am so diappointed in the Avs. They are well under the salary cap and we pick up Tucker? Old man Tucker? I mean he is an alright player but OLD. The Avs need to start thinking about the future.

On the other hand I am of course quite happy that Super Joe is back.

They got Rolston and Holik back. Rolston will make a huge difference for them. Holik....ehhh no comment really. Who knows what he will do. He did good with the devils back in the day but every team hes been with after that wasnt too great. I cant wait to see what this new kid Teneby does for the team. They are comparing him to Martin St. Louis. I can see nothing but an improvement with the Devils this season IMO.

Should be an intersting year, alot of teams went through some major overhauls. The Wild were no exception losing Pavel Demitra and Brian Rolston. Atleast they were smart enough to keep Gaborik and Koivou.

Go Lightning!

So, do they find some way of putting LeCavalier on the same line as Stamkos? LOL, of course not, but who gets St Louis and who gets Prospal or do they load up one line and leave Stamkos with the leftovers? This should be an interesting year for the Lightning.
