rofl, pau is a borderline allstar, hall of fame, lol.
I love the guy but HOF is for elite players: Shaq. Kobe. Wilt. Russel. Magic. Michael. Malone. Stockton. Duncan. Robinson etc etc. Unless Pau can average 35 pts 15 rebs 6 assists for the rest of his nba career then...no.

HoFers don't necessarily have to be dominant stat guys, (Reggie Miller for example, is a guy you could argue is one) but they need to have made a lasting contribution to the game or is a stand out in his era. Garnett, Kobe, Jason Kidd, Shaq...
I mean... I'd vote Sabonis in before Gasol if I had a vote =P at least he had some gold medals and was a top European player during his time (remember, basketball Hall of Fame is for ALL basketball, not just NBA)
Pau lead Spain to some kind of medal, didn't he? (Not sure) One can argue that if it weren't for him, Kobe, and The Lakers would never even get a whiff of the NBA finals, let alone back to back appearances. Borderline allstar isn't really a valid argument, all star games are popularity contests, voted on by the fans, and coaches. I.E. David West would have never been an allstar if weren't for the fact Byron Scott was the coach!
Tough crowd, I'm not saying he is or he isn't, just for discussions sake. He has accomplished alot internationally, its just unfortunate he spent his first few years in Memphis.
There are too many better players league wide to vote him in just b/c of two finals trips. Now let's say the Lakers win this year... you're voting in the #2 guy who's won one championship in the HoF? And if they lose... what's he done that someone like Dirk Nowitzki (previous MVP) hasn't exceeded?
Here's a better comparison... let's take a crappy team (Miami), and they make it to the Finals two straight years and for arguments sake win one, lose one. Their #1 guy is Wade, their #2 guy is Michael Beasley averaging 19ppg, 7rpg and 3apg for those two years... would you vote him in?
I don't agree with the Drazen vote though... imo it was more of a sympathy vote than anything. I think he could have been great, and he was a pioneer in terms of proving that the euros can not only play in the NBA, but excel... but was he really HoF caliber? Compared to some guys who haven't been given the nod... like Bernard King? Or better yet, Don Nelson, the 2nd winningest coach in nba history?
If the lakers win 2 or more championships with him, yes (most of the team is signed for the next 2-3 years minus Ariza & Odom, which I believe Ariza will get the big Laker contract and hopefully L.O. does sign for cheaper)
HOFers have to bring some kind of smile to your face, or make you say yes to thier name off the back...Dirk Nowitzki if he keeps doing what he does each year despite no ring yet is a HOF
