Default Brazil v. USA

One sloppy, lucky, goal for the US so far. Dempsey did not intend for the ball to skim his leg, he was looking for a solid strike to the left post.

Brazil is playing sloppily, but still better than the US

Transition was good on the 2nd goal. Landon's bad touch (unintended trap that placed the ball back to the center) allowed him to throw the defender off and he still had to finish, which he did.

Are you recognizing that the US has no build up or skillful play?

Howard is the sole reason the Us is in this game. Brazil has had 5 brilliant shots on goal compared to USA's ZERO good shots. With 8 mins left it might be to little to say brazil gets one before half but i do think it will be 2-1 at going into the 65th minute

A good goalie is a reason for ANY team to be in the game no matter what team it is. Stop making excuses and watch the game.

yea way to point out the obvious, but he is playing his A game. I'm sure the brazilian keeper is good to, but he has not had any shots there were savable. I could be wrong, so tell me how many shots the US team has had on goal?

Landon's shot was nearly impossible for the goalie b/c he was at the 18 ungaurded looking at a 1 v 1

You obviously dont watch the sport much if you think EVERYTHING should be beautiful.

Julio Cesar is amazing. I agree on the 1v1 which leads me to say that Donovans cut and finish was world class fooling the keeper.

I'm busy playing the sport. Actually had a game this morning and have a second at 4(looks like i will be showing up late). I played on a nationally ranked squad growing up and played college with a member on this board. I know a little bit about the sport.

Watching the reply i stand corrected and landon intended to cut back across the middle which threw the defender off. The keeper was a sitting duck and had a 50/50 chance to guess the correct side the shot was going to.

I was leading scorer in AA county here in MD on my club team in HS and more of my goals that made it in were ugly and the really nice ones were somehow blocked or stopped.

If you perform by the book they will know what you are going to do. If it does something weird or your improvise that's how you score.

Winning is winning no matter how its done. Luck does not get you to the championship

So then you will admit that it was a nice goal?

I know ugly gets it done, i am not knocking ugly, i am knocking the overall play and build up. I am happy for the goal, but when people praise how good it was, you have to understand it from a skill set level and it was garbage.

Also what club team did you play for and what was your age group/year

Bradley needs to be fired, NOW

His tactics and strategy is something I would see from a coach with a 17 year old So. Cal club team

You have Adu & Torres on the bench who are one of the few players on the squad that can create, and you sub in Klejstan and Bornstein???? GTFO!

The US will be able to compete if the dumb heads up top ever decide to get a REAL coach who can teach better strategy & tactics.

How do you go up 2 goals, and just sit back and let a team take shot after shot? Eventually good teams, like Brazil, will find ways to break you down and finish as we saw in this game.

My hats off to Donovan,Davies,Demerit,Onyewu,Specter,Bocanegra.

haha ADU was on the bench? I didn't see the US roster, but i assumed if he wasn't in the game it was because he had other obligations with his Euro Contract. who ever mentioned the coaching tactics is right. Talking to my friend the US is long ball and/or counterattack footraces
