Default Keeper league draft..ongoing

Hey guys, this is a longstanding 12 team keeper league (about 8 years old). Ive won my fair share (twice) and generally have gone deep in the playoffs until last year. I finished with the 4th most points but 3rd worse record..lol. My keepers (you can keep 1QB, 1RB, 1WR, 1 Def or K, and 1 Flex):

Donovan McNabb
Larry Johnson
Willy Parker
Marques Colston
Pittsburgh Defense

I got the 3rd pick. In this draft the 1st 2 rounds do not snake, after that it does. So, I had the 1.3 and 2.3 and then snakeage.

1st--Ryan Grant (both of my keeper RBs had week 8 byes, so I felt I had to take him)
2nd--Deshaun Jackson
3rd--Lendale White
4th--Antonio Bryant
5th--Eli Manning
6th--

Im on deck right now. My issue last year was age and fragility. I had McNabb and Bulger...both glass QBs. TO and Colston were my main WRs. Larry Johnson and a list of broken RB starting with Parker, including Julius Jones and Earnest Graham among others. So far, I seem to have some good youth.

So, critique away..

are there any rookies like Donald Brown or Knowshon Moreno left? seeing its a keeper league try to get someone who has the chance to be good down the line.

Leon Washington, Chirs Wells, Lesean McCoy, and Felix Jones are some other nice options.

Yea, I was looking at Knowshon as a late round pickup. Vincent Jackson has been gone for a while. I dont particularly like taking rookies, but I think I might be targeting Harvin in the next round or so..thoughts on that?

Harvin looked last night that he was going to play a big part in the Vikings offense, might be a good one to hold on to.

He is too fast and good of an option for Favre, plus he will get decent rushing yards on end arounds and wildcat formations. You may even get a cheap touchdown throw or 2 out of him

if youre going to go with a rookie go with a running back who will have a chance at a feature role. look at Matt Forte and Chris Johnson from last year for example. theyre first rounders this year and beyond. wide reciever on the other hand take some time to develop excluding studs such as Calvin Johnson and even Royal or Desean Jackson.

Harvin is worth a look just because as stated above they use him a lot of various ways. but if you ask me id go with a back.

I like Leon...I think he is going to have agreat year. Also I think Morgan from SF will be good. Nothing spectacular, but worth a pick up. Harvin did look good last night, does your league give you return points/ If so I would take him for sure or Leon....

On another note, why keep Parker he probably wont even be starter by the end of the year?

My other options were Earnest Graham (1 of a triple headed backfield and probably the least sexy of the 3) and Julius Jones...Willy is a much better option Id think.

Boss for sure but Shockey is debatable.

i like Shiancoe because he catches TD's and is already building a rapport with Favre who will check down to him often.

same reason for Keller and Miller because hes the best reciever Russell has and gets a lot of yardage which will put up points consistently from week to week..

i dont like Shockey because he is injury prone for one and two there are too many other options in NO which will make for inconsistent games.

Yea, Im not too high on Shockey. Love him as a player, but the injuries and the fact that Brees just doesnt seem to search him out hurt him. Seems like the perfect spot for him though with Brees' time with Gates. Its odd. I keep expecting a huge year, but it doesnt happen.
