Well, since baseball is over for me, its time for some HOCKEY.
Hockey might be over for me before too long anyway...NJ isn't going to do anything this year. Why they let a couple big names go and signed no one to replace them I don't know. I thought for sure Gio would retire a Devil, but maybe he is greedy, though I don't think NJ even offered him a contract.
I am picking the Flyers to be awesome this year. They now have a goalie (thats a first) and strong defense and can certainly score. Wouldn't be suprised if they won that Divison, but we will see.
I am surprised by the Avs tbh. I thought their over-the-top salary was going to be a problem, but so far the new/young guys are getting things done.
Washington again has awesome offense but the defense is terrible. They have to fix that or they will never go deep come playoff time. The Pacific Division is completely upside down lol
Devils play Rangers this week...probably not good for the Devils (so far at least) but GO DEVILS!!!
Considering the history behind that team, I feel for you man. Hopefully they keep it up (as long as they aren't playing NJD )
For sure. Last year was pretty depressing. We had a run the year before that beating the Wild in the playoffs. But it is nice to see some goaltending that is helping us compete every night.

Avs might have a better season than NJD lol. I know we still have Marty Brodeur but he isn't as good as he used to be (esp with the more open NHL) but they have no offense. Elias comes back soon. I am really not sure why they didn't put Shannahan on the 3rd line to start the season, but he isn't with NJ now so it doesn't matter.
That goal was sick, way to stay with it and go around people, surprising though for ryan miller(buffalo goalie) usually he is very good at staying up on those.
Seriously dude? That was not very clean. Shoulder to the face is unnecessary. I would have given him contact to the head penalty. He should have just lowered his shoulder into his chest or something.
It was definately on the line of being illegal but he didn't get fined or suspended so i guess NHL said it was a clean hit. Richards is definately one of the best captains in the NHL.
