The first small test drive revealed almost no noises. After the drive to and from work, I am noticing more noises.
There is a small silver metal ring on the underside of the pillow mount that sometimes needs to be tightened with a crooked needle-nose pliers or a sturdy C-clip tool.
So the adjustment on the ring, does it just get pressed in tighter?
When you tighten it, the clunking noise will disappear. The ring in the pillow mount is simply loose, so it's not holding the assembly together as tight as it should.
I guess I'm not asking the question correctly. The ring that's in the pillow mount, is it a snap ring? Is it a solid ring? I'm not understanding how i would go about tightening up a ring, unless i just push the ring farther into the pillow mount.
Here are some pictures to show what I'm talking about. It is an inner screw-in ring that holds the top on tight and everything together.
You grab a hold of the little notches with sturdy snap-ring pliers or crooked needle-nose pliers and you turn it tighter.
