Morning Wood -- How, Why and When will it Stop !?!?!
Allright, Can someone explain to me the physical anatomy behind this strange and awkward occurance. Does it serve some type of purpose, like the body naturally wants to reproduce in the waking hours? I find it quite annoying to wake up in the morning and find that this has occured yet again, and theres no real way to make it go away. Is it just me or does morning wood seem to be a bit woodier than typical wood?
Does anyone have any type of strategy for preventing morning wood other than age? and does it eventually go away when you have gotten older, or should i expect this to occur almost every morning for the rest of my life.
And Lastly, does anyone have any funny/useful stories related to this type of wood?
HAHA, i changed the thing because i found out that like 20+ people didnt even know how to read it at the meet. LOL. I cant even imagine trying to write that thing on a nametag in the future meets This is much easier to understand i think, plus i still gots the bomb avatar
Well obviously its PART of being a man LOL. womean dont have this type of equipment, or i hope to God that any of the women ive ever met dont! That would just make me feel dirty.
I dunno, it just cracks me up how its always there. I have to take a **** standing 10 feet from the toilet or with one hand on the wall to create an appropriate angle so i dont **** all over the surrounding real estate!
Ill be happy when im married so i can put this thing to use!

From early childhood onwards, erections occur during sleep. This phenomenon, called nocturnal penile tumescence, occurs during REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) and usually occurs for about 100 minutes a night. As far as scientists know, the subject matter of the dream does not predict whether or not there will be an erection. The erections are a normal part of REM sleep for males of all ages.
The relationship between REM sleep and erections is the reason that men frequently wake up in the morning with an erection without having any particular desire to engage in sexual activity. There is a commonly held, but incorrect, belief that morning erections are due to a full urinary bladder. This belief really makes no sense. For example, men do not get erections during the day before urination. The correct explanation for morning erections involves the way nighttime sleep is organized. We have most of our REM sleep in the early morning, usually between 4 - 7 AM. Therefore, each morning we are very likely to awaken directly from REM sleep or, at the very least, soon after a long REM period has ended. Thus, men are very likely to awaken in the morning with a REM sleep-related erection.
Regardless, it's a b!tch trying to wrangle my ****** when I have to pee in the morning with a throbb'n clown.

"Yep, it's completely normal. Almost every guy past puberty gets morning wood on a regular basis. It doesn't go away with age either - I'm almost 30, and I get morning wood almost every morning, and its been that way ever since I was 14 or 15.
It's caused by high levels of testosterone in the blood when you first wake up, and by the brain's built-in function to create several erections during the night. Most testosterone is released when you sleep, and it reaches peak levels when you first wake up in the morning. Surges of testosterone can cause spontaneous erections, such as morning wood. Also, the brain triggers several erections during the night. Most guys experience 3-4, sometimes up to 7 erections in once night, usually during REM sleep (dream state). Some of these nocturnal erections last over 45 minutes long! Sometimes when you wake up in the middle of one of these nocturnal erections, you have morning wood.
People often think that morning wood is caused by the need to urinate - it actually has nothing to do with it.
It's really just a way of nature making sure all the equipment is working properly, and gives it the exercise it needs whether or not you do any while awake" quote from healthboards.com
Steve, I thought it did quote but I did not check it. And thankful that it is you who caught my error. I might not have seen it if I had not seen the Rush avatar. It grabs my attention.
My ex husband is not an *******, he has a set of problems as everyone else. I just agreed to a mutual feeling. We are very close friends and will always be. We just could not be married any longer, for reasons we each had. No pool of pity around my feet.
Steve, truth be it, I'm pissed at a couple folks right now and when I get upset I seem to migrate to the Off Topic at my350.com. Sometimes I post and sometimes I just read. You all provide a wealth of information and enertainment. Thanks for your input, but I have to get payroll done or I won't be able to leave and never come back to this place.
Morning wood isn't bad..... It's bad when you're about to get off the train/bus/whatever & your "guy" decides to "wake up" for no reason..... Now THAT sucks! I thought that sort of wood was supposed to stop happening after puberty.
