Believe me, I am pretty pissed off. I got the car like that on Saturday night and it is like a nightmare. I'd like to sue, but a lawyer told me that since I already paid the guy and signed off on the work, I can't? Like marques1 mentioned before, I can try to make a civil suit against this guy.

However, another lawyer (my cousin) told me that he knows an investigator at the Bureau of Automotive Repair and he's going to get him to start an investigation on Mike's shop. Worst case scenario: his shop gets closed down. Which is what I hope for since I am not the only one he has screwed over. Since we've gotten the word out on Monday, many have come forward with their experiences with Mike.
You have a valid case. You could definitely win in small claims court, but will you ever see any money? That's the real question.

superblack350z: i was just messing with you. I didn't think you would take it so serious, lol.

rubicant: you don't need a lawyer for this. I know my dad is a lawyer. Just make it a civil case unless you plan on him paying like over 10,000 in damages, lol. Once the judge or jury see's the kind of negligence on his part you will get your money back plus some to rectify the damage. This will teach you that when you go to a body shop you must do your homeowork. Alot of body shops are scam artist. Once you find a good body shop keep going their. I use to do the show car scene for a long time and finding someone that meets your standards is harder then it seems.

The reason it seems like I am taking this lightly is because he has sold parts to someone, something happened and that person wanted a refund. Mike said he'd give him a refund, but didn't make it go through until 3 months later. Shortly after, Mike reversed the refund!

Another instance was with someone in Japan. He liked Mike's good work so he paid for a plane ticket to paint two of his cars in Japan. 2 weeks later, Mike finishes and takes off back home. The guy in Japan finds a lot of things wrong with the cars and to make a long story short, he sold the parts in the cars and scrapped them. He demanded a refund of the plane ticket and labor. Mike has only paid him back about 500 to this day. This happened earlier this year.

I see. Some people have told me to get on Judge Judy for this? Hah, I don't know if I wanna be on TV...

But seriously, I'll check into making a civil case.

Seriously.

The more people know about this, the better.

We never intended for any of this to happen.

He screwed us over.

Now, we're exposing him.

Simple as that.

If you take him to court on a civil case this is what will happen. YOu see the judge he makes a verdict. If he sides with you. He will tell the owner of the shop that he owes you xxxxx amount of dollars which he must repay. If he doesn't repay they will go to his shop and seize somthing comprable to what he owes you and sell it and repay you your money. If he decides not to show up to the court date the judge will listen to your side of the story and you automatically win the case. You will probably have to pay 100.00 out of your pocket for them to try to seize his property though. I'm telling you ive dealt with dumbass's like this before and the only way to get money out of them is to bring them to court. They will say i will give you a refund and never do so. Take my word for it bring him to civil court its really cheap like 69 dollars.

We picked up the car around 11pm.

It was dark, we were both stressed as it is, and him lagging on us didn't make things better.

We saw a lot of flaws when we picked up the car, but he "promised" to fix them.

When we got a better view of the car the next day, oh the horror.

Then, today.

We finally jack up the car and see the rest of this nightmare.

Even though he signed, 95% of the things he said were going to be done....weren't done.

It's all in the invoices, AIM conversations, and word of mouth.

I stand as a witness, and have plenty of others that can back us with previous horror stories with Mike.

Wow...I am completely speechless man. I don't see how anybody could do that do someone else's property. You might as well call that vandalism.

I'm not sure about your legal options, but I know for damn sure something ought to be done to bring this scumbag down and out.

I pose the same question though...how the hell could you have signed that knowing your car looked like that? I know you were probably very eager to get your car back, but come on man...they butchered your car to hell. You have to be more careful about that kinda stuff. Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I honestly can not express how sorry I am for your situation. The drilling of the sideskirts into the chassis makes me cringe. JT Auto did that with my nismo kit on my old 07...and I was pretty pissed about that. However, they only drilled in 5 spots...and they were well placed. Your screws aren't even in a straight line...man I feel so bad.

Talk to the BBB or your friend that works for the automotive section, they should know a little something about this.

Seriously...Fukc this guy. What a dik

My condolences again bro. So sorry to hear about the situation

all the judge has to see is the pics of the crappy job no matter if you signed or not. Just tell the judge it was dark outside when you took the car because he did not have the car ready when he was suppose to. It doesnt matter civil court is your best friend. I highly doubt this guy will fix the problem and i wouldnt want his ass touching my car after the hack job he did on your car. Like bush says you cant trick me once but you can't trick me again, lol.

May I recommend 2020autobody tech for the restoration of your car. They are about 10 minutes away from this guy...and they do a FANTASTIC job. They have unbelievable quality control and customer service. Not to mention their paint jobs are the best i've seen. My brother hit a tree branch of about 4.5inches in diameter...and 95% rubbed right off. Talk to David...he'll take care of you bro

We actually went to 2020 today for a quote.

We were quoted $4,800 to have everything repaired.(back to OEM spec bumpers wise, with a new lip kit fitted, painted, and installed.)

Yeah.

Close to $5,000 to have a $750 job repaired.

OMFG. This job is worse than when me and my friend installed our own body kits on our hondas without one bit of knowledge of installation. The paint job we had done at Earl Scheib and it was a million times better than this. I would definitely have a talk with the owner and show him every single mistake and tell him you want everything corrected.
