Default Wet bar in progress.

UPDATE ON PAGE #5.
I had a 12 days break over the holiday, I decided to do something useful and build myself a wet bar. It's very simple bar with a little personal touch. The fishtank placement kinda risky, but I really liked how it turned out. There's a sink with cabinet behind the bar. I apologize for the crappy phone pics, the pics of the final product will be a lot better.

The location after some basic cleaning.

Started by laying everything out on AutoCad, then I went to town with it, I only worked on it for a few hours a day and this is what I got after the first day.

After 2nd day

What it looks like now, just sitting there waiting for countertop to come.

Things I still gotta do:

Lightings, fish tank, trim, counter top and misc stuff. I'll update once verything is finished.

Looking forward to the final pics. I've been wanting to do something like this when I get some extra cash.

How do you access the fishtank? You do realize that they smell, right?

Overall a sweet idea, just think the room needs to be fixed up too.
The wall isn't finished, those "holes" are actually an outlet and a light switch that I've put in.

I can access the fish tank from the back of the bar, which has been built to accomodate everything a fish tank would need. I'm quite familiar with fish tanks as I already have another fishtank upstair.

Nobody in their right mind would be build a nice bar only to leave rest of the room looking shiatty

Make sure your tank is COMPLETELY covered. Don't spill anything in there.

What kind of fish are you going with? That looks like a 55g right?

One other thought. If it isn't too late, you might want to inlay a piece of plexiglass on the front of the bar to protect the aquarium from being tapped against/broken. And I would DEFINITELY put more bracing underneath the aquarium. That thing is going to weigh several hundred pounds... two 2x4s screwed into other 2x4s isn't very sturdy.
The wall in pic 1 and 2 hasn't been touched, I had to cut the bottom portion out to run the plumping for the sink, hence the unpaint piece of drywall at the bottom, then I had to cut the next piece to run the wires up into the ceiling for the lights that I'm going to hang up.

I have thought about plexiglass, but the glass on the tank is pretty thick and i can always add it later if that pose to be a problem.

As far as supporting the tank, there is a lot more support than than, the 2nd pic only show the outline frame of everything.

You're gonna run a canister filter on the tank I would assume?

Yeah it's a 55g, I don't know what kind of fish I'm going with just yet, but I know it's going to a freshwater tank as I already have saltwater tank in the house.

And yeah, I'm running a Fluval 304 canister filter with in.

I have to agree with wren, more support for the tank is needed. One long 2x4 on each side is not enough imo! I suggest adding some support in the middle of the tank; if pic 1 is the complete frame. I'd also add a piece of plexy in front of the tank, just in case...

I should have taken pic of the finished frame. there are a lot more support than that.

@Eric, why do you have both powerheads pointed at the surface? is this something required for this type of fish?

It's just how I have it set up really. No requirements. These fish are tough as hell I have both of the powerheads pointed straight out now.

Oh sweet! If Saltwater tank wasn't so pricey I probably would do another one, i'm sure it would be trippy to watch Bob (yes, I name my fish) zip back and forth in the tank after some excessive drinking.
