Springfield, Shelbyville....that's in Tennessee too. Every state probably has towns named after each.

Watch seasons 3-9 and be content. Anything after that is just half-hearted comedic residue seeping through the pores of a once mighty giant of gut-laughs. Once Ian Maxtone Graham left the series it took a tumble it couldn't recover from. I partly blame Family Guy and the influence it SURELY had on the new crop of writers. As the newly less edgy animated show on the block it fell victim to the regurgitative impulse to imitate Seth McFarlanes work. Unfortunately those new writers are consistently missing the mark. I haven't so much as giggled at Homer in 5 seasons. It's not working. Blow Springfield up in a nuclear blunder and give its residents the bon voyage it's been asking for these past few years. Let it go. As much as I love it, let it go.

They are officially in Vermont. The producers and writers had a contest before the showing of the 'Simpsons Movie' .. the official home of the simpsons are in Springfield, Vermont. Even the premiere of the Simpsons Movie was in Springfield, Vermont. End of Discussion.

The federation said the illegal Simpsons Movie copy was the first on the Internet and was recorded by a cell phone in a Sydney cinema on July 26 -- hours before its release in most of the world. Officials said the movie was uploaded to a video-sharing site based in the United States before it hit U.S. theatres July 27.

Guess Sydney is in Vermont also, huh??? Damn nOObs!!!!!!
