Dunno where the Forum wars responses are gonna go, I feel like we got mis-represented, a random no name person (no offense bardabe) who built the car in only 4 days (rather then a seasoned 350Z owner and driver) was randomly chosen to represent us?
Has anyone actually watched the vid yet? I was just like

just watched it.. pretty disappointing.. seemed like a mismatch...Shelby was well put together/ good driver... seemed like the z was just thrown together at the last minute.. and the driver was more of a seasoned drifter.. wish the Z driver had more time to prepare his car...
also 1/8 mile drag race FTL!

Oh thank god I'm not the only one, haha, I was like maybe he's a friend to everybody...but okay...now I'm gonna say how I realllly felt. I feel like we were represented by a n00b with a half assed car (had an 06' junkyard motor thrown in it) found the thread on the forum, and shouldn't there of been like a vote of who goes? haha. He represented us awful made us look like childish teenagers.
First of all, who the hell just races 1/8 mile? WTF?
Both are noobs at drag racing. Many of us N/A drag racers have trapped over 80 and are well into the 8 sec range. The driver at least should've been paying attention to the tree more to try to get the jump.
And what the hell happened on the track? The Mustang apparently had Hoosiers on. What did the Z have?
With that being said, I commend the guy for doing his best to prepare his care in those few short days.
I do want to know how this guy was chosen to represent our forum (and poorly at that) and why, though. We never even had a say.

from his thread...apparently it was an SCCA prepped mustang...
"well I had 4 days to put the car together, i did what i could with the money we had, and the time we had, there was no limits to the mods the car would have. we where approached about the opportunity for this on Saturday, at SEMA over email and phone. we had literally got the car on Friday.... without an engine... so i was starting with a blank canvas. I never imagined all the sponsors would come through for us. but it actually came together very last minute very fast, and not so smooth lol but it came all together and we made it there in 3 work days and 1 body day. well i guess if you litteraly count a whole day of towing car to Dyno, preping it and Dyno tuning as work then yeah 3. if no then 2 wrenching days."
tsk tsk
edit: yeah i watched the first 12 seconds after he introduced himself and that was that. and since when is a shelby a fair comparison to a 350Z? a GT would be better and even then they're not really the same class

He didn't seem massively out-horsed (if the bio on Forum Wars is right, only put out an est. 317 crank). However, Bardabe's light and 60 foot time looked a little suspect along with the fact he autocrossed against a Hoosier shood car. It definitely could have been matched better, but in all I don't see alot that would have changed on the strip unless we had a ringer. But the autocross could have been a point of improvement, driving and tires (if he was on 200+ treadwear street tires).
