Help! Innovate LC-1 AFR problem
hi i just intalled in my Z (just mod MD 5/16" Spacer, O2 Exahust) the innovate LC-1 innovate A/F gauge, and dunno why but it shows when starts engine 7.5 ~ 10.3 AFR, but i have also apexis turbo timer and with that it shows 13.5 ~ 16 AFR, so anything is wrong with installaton? i'm worry because in next week i'm going to install the vortech supercharger, so i follow the instructions for the innovate AF LC1
First disconnect the sensor from the exhaust, later i put in ACC to supply 12V to LC-1 for 20 seconds, lateri turn it off and then the sensor is expose to the AIR for calibration, then i switch on and wait like 2 minutes till the LED lights comes steady, so i did twice this all instructions but still the same, so anyone can help me? thanks |

Yes! Must calibrate and make sure all our grounds are good grounds. They go on and on about grounds on the Innovate forums.

One of the black wires is for calibration, you ground it to "reset" the sensor. I hooked it up with the other grounds and boy did that screw with my readings.

Contact Innovate, or check on their forums. I'm sure the people on their forums will have a better idea and sooner.
Also are you sure the LED push button isn't allowing a ground in and of itself? I'd try using a two pole momentary non-lit button to make sure. |

Best ground is the engine block or batt negative.

Chassis ground may not be good enough. As an experiment run a wire to the negative part of the battery. Also you should have more than one ground. You have the ground for the gauge. You also have the grounds for the LC-1 itself. You also have the analog output grounds. The gauge can be chassis. But the LC-1 needs to be grounded to batt. neg. Again this information is from the Innovate forums they are very explicit about grounds and ground offsets.

hi all !~! yeah it works!!! i connected to the battery GND and also there are 2 cables for output Yellow and brown, so i connect the brong one (output 2) and calibrate free air, and did work! so right now my AFR is between 13.7 ~ 15.8 AFR but one question when i accelerate the pedal it shows aroung the 13.7 ~ 15.8 AFR but when i let the pedal (no accelerate) the AFR is like so high 18 ~ 22.4 AFR buy i thinkthat s maybe because im not giving fuel, right?

When you let off the pedal in gear the injectors should shut off. So you should read a very lean AFR.
