All Nissan's have EDR's. Will it have a system like the GTR? I assume if it has an automated gearbox like the GTR, then yes. If they fit it with a conventional auto and stick, I'd say no.

Well if you think about it, pretty much all cars now have onboard computer systems that record vehical data. So "black box" is basically the same thing.

You guys do realize there's a BIG difference between EDR's that come in almost every new car (except Hyundai's and Kia's) and the system that's in the GTR, right?

Default Old News...

http://autos.aol.com/article/general...16150109990001

EDRs are "black boxes" -- just like airplanes have. They can record a wide variety of things -- including how fast you drive and whether you "buckle-up for safety." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) wants EDRs to be installed in every new vehicle beginning with model year 2008...

I wonder if people will start getting tickets in the mail for speeding and/or not wearing a seatbelt.
