Are you gonna be the gothchick of the HR motor? (gothchick insists that the DE is superior to the HR)...

you gotta be kidding me...

anyways, wonder how much a good tune can milk out cause it seems like the stock ecu is pretty forgiving already.

If you look around at some of the HR dyno threads when the 07 first came out... you'll see what i am talking about.

the new VHR is a beast! If somebody can hit 350whp...it will be epic.

I don't even think he has a tune yet correct? If not he will probably be more around 335-340 already

Correct, nothing on the market to tune it with yet. I'm waiting for UpRev. No headers yet either. So 350 should be attainable, at least on a DynoJet (not so much on Sharif's heartbreaker, lol).

I could've sworn I made a post in this thread. In any case...those numbers are amazing. It's making the 370Z very tempting.

Yeah I think there was a thread about this before but then it got ruined with solo fighting about the HR being the same and responding the same as the VHR....so they made a new one.

On second thought, 350whp might be a stretch. Even though I'm already at 321, getting another 29 out of just headers, pulley, and a tune? Hmm...not sure how feasible that is. But hey, it's something to aim for, right?

yeah it gonna be close. the pulley wont to jack, sorry to say but the headers and tune could get you very very close.

With the additional flow efficiency you "should" get from the headers, the reduced parasitic drag from the pulley and a "performance" tune vs. the factory "do everything ok" tune, I think mid 340 is reasonably attainable on that dyno. This motor just seems to respond unusually well to bolt-ons.

Hey semtex, if you don't mind me asking, roughly how much did the intake, exhaust and hfc set you back installed?

I didn't choose the dyno. I chose the tuner who happened to have that dyno. Maybe after I finish my bolt ons I'll take it to Stillen's dynojet to get some comparison numbers.

I dont think that is that far fetched. It depends how much the OEM ECU is holding you back. It seems like it takes to breathing mods well.

****.....350whp out of a bolt on 370 would be stellar.

does there look like any improvement can be made from an intake? Am sure when they start making intakes it should yelid SOMETHING...And Also if you went with test pipes instaed of HFC a few extra ponies should free up.

Do we know if this is a factory beast or not? If not that's insane, I might be getting rid of the 350 sooner than I thought.

About $2200 total for the parts. Nada for the installation, because I'm lucky enough that one of my best friends has also been my mechanic for the last 10 years, and he refuses to accept money from me even when I try to force him to take it.

Already have an intake. Stillen's G3 Longtube intake, to be specific. Or are you thinking of plenum spacers?

Yeah unfortunately, I never did a baseline dyno when it was bone stock, so there's always a chance that it's a ringer. BUT, there are other guys over on the-370 who are following in my footsteps and also getting dynos so that we can compare. If their numbers come in similar, then it'll tell us that my car isn't an 'outlier'.
