Lol ZCon has been going on for something like almost 25 years. I went to the one in San Antonio after Z Nationals in Georgia and it was F*CKING AWESOME.
I'm going to sign up for this one pronto.

Wow-first time I've seen this, but it looks like a blast.
Curious, is there a group rate discount at nearby hotels?
YES! Check out the above Convention link....Embassy Suites Hotel, includes discounted room rates plus breakfast is included & complimentary manager's cocktail reception from 5:30pm to 7:30pm - light snacks & beverages are included too!

I spoke to Chris Karl (President of the ZCCA and ZCON 2010 Chairman) and he confirmed that Bob Bondurant, Peter Brock and Steve Millen are all confirmed to be at the convention.
Good and not-so-good news...the good news is that registration is VERY strong for this year's convention but the not-so-good news is that we have managed to book up the Embassy Suites hotel.
However, the convention team has added a secondary block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. The Hilton Garden Inn is <1 mile from the Embassy on the same road as the Embassy and Nissan's HQ (location of the Car Show). Some rooms *may* be added at the Embassy should cancellations occur, but if you unable to book at the Embassy, please book your room at the Hilton ASAP.
We have negotiated a similar package to the Embassy - $119/night, free cooked-to-order breakfast for two people and free internet access.
Our travel plans out of Texas:
-Leave San Antonio Sunday July 25th and head to Dallas for Mad Mike Party
-Leave Dallas on Monday July 26th and head straight to Nashville
-Leave Nashville on Tuesday July 27th and head to the Tail of the Dragon. Stay in the Mountains Tuesday night.
-Leave the Tail on Wednesday after lunch and head back to Franklin for the ZCON opening reception.
FYI- There are 3 groups heading out of the Dallas area. On Monday we leave and do the drive in 1 shot. Mad Mike also leads a group out on Monday but they will be towing cars so they plan to arrive on Tuesday to Nashville. A third group plans to leave Tuesday and do a straight drive.

Just returned from two days in Nashville discussing the convention plans with four of the convention guys. We met with Nissan, the hotel people and the track people also. The convention hotel is within walking distance of Nissan and the car show. There will be three cars in the lobby and about eight more outside the front. There is tons of parking and plenty of room for the fifty-some trailers we are anticipating at the moment. The overflow hotel is about a mile down the road. It is a brand new facility and has the same amenities as the Embassy - indoor pool, business room, etc. Both hotel parking lots will have an off duty police officer for security.
We anticipate filling up the front lawn at Nissan with around three-hundred cars or more. Nissan headquarters will be open and food will be available in the Nissan cafeteria which services about 1,500 people daily. You'll be impressed. Special displays will be in front of the building including race cars, heritage vehicles, and concourse cars. There have been questions about tickets to just come see the car show and spectators are free. Because this show is going to be pretty elaborate, we decided to start parking cars around 6:30 in the morning and start the show earlier as well.
Nashville has it's problems with flood damage but should not affect our convention plans. My picks for local bars downtown include; Legends Corner and 2nd Fiddle for ambiance, Coyote Ugly and Stage on Broadway for dancing, and the quitessential dive bar with GREAT music - Full Moon Saloon. Here are some web sites for Honky Tonk Row: Honky Tonk Row - Nashville Music Venue
Heard about this event while at Z-Dayz. Thinking about it. What events can the average person participate in? Haven't yet checked out the site link. Will do that later on. But any insight is appreciated.
Had a blast at Z-Dayz Airstrip run and now I have the fever for racing. Will there be any racing for us at Z-Con?
Well this sucks! I really wanted to go, had plans to go, but then I found out that ZCON and NOPI/ Hot Import Nights are on the same day. So prob going to NOPI/HIN : /

Seriously? NOPI happens all the time, this is the 40th Anniversary of the Z at Nissan Corporate Headquarters.
