Default 2007+ Nismo Dual Intake System Pic

NNA brought some cars out to our local Z club meet. This is the Nismo Intake in development for the 07+ cars. They had 2 versions . . . black and red. Black was more finished and had the nismo label on it, but it was hard to see in pics. I have attached the picture of the red tubed system as it is easier to see.

Yeah, when will they be out? I keep checking at work on the parts disks and Nissan online. By the way I work for a Nissan dealership in the parts department. I know the price but still no availability.

When I talked to the Nissan reps back at the Stillen show in May they said 10hp, but we will have to wait to see those figures.

I currently have the Stillen dual intakes. As soon at the Nismo is available the Stillen's will be coming off and the Nismo's will be coming on.

With apologies for the noobness of this question in advance:

I hear a lot of people saying that a re-tune is required / recommended when you add an intake. True? False? Thoughts?

umm.. that would be a tremendous waste of money unless you are gonna stay stock other then the intakes. getting tune is always a good idea once your done modding since our cars run pig rich from the factory.

the nismo guy there said "around 10 hp". No one asked a price or a release date. They said this was the intake they are "working on". Didnt sound like it was quite ready but that was just my take.

yep

One thing . . . there is no velocity stacks in the nismo intake. Just like in 2003-2006 and 2007, the stock air boxes had a velocity stack incorporated into the stock air box. AFAIK, JWT was the only other mfg to put that back in their intake system.

I dont know if JWT is working on something for the HR, but if they do I would suspect that they would duplicate their efforts on the stack. If I was an 07 owner I would be waiting on that intake. It was the best intake for the 03-06 and should follow suit.
