ive seen/read/heard about many different ways to break in an engine, what to do, what not to do, baby it, or beat the stuffing out of it. im not saying your way is wrong.
however...
its impossible to determine how well/long an engine will perform solely by it's breakin period, it just plays a factor. maintenance/inspection is another major factor.
i am very curious to see what an oil analysis looks like after you put on 15k though. if your not planning on using castrol, what other syns are you looking at using instead? if your having trouble deciding on an oil to use, take a look at this thread too

most (if not all) of the UOAs done in that thread are on DEs i believe. i noticed the averages with certain oils in the HR and DE are closely comparable. so, if i was lost in the woods about what oil to go with, i'd start lookin at that thread

Which keeps your tolerances tighter.

Second Mobil1 report.. speaks for itself...
I already put castrol 0w30 in, still putting miles on it. I expect improved results, but who knows what will happen... The numbers have to go back up at some point.
I believe you can see some wear beginning (Tin). Thats from bearings if I'm not mistaken. Everything else has been pretty much consistent. The aluminum dropped again, which I am happy to see.

From my experiences: Of all the oil reports I've done, Mobil1 5w30 has been the best so far, and I do recommend using it for your first oil change until you find something you like better. I expect the reports form the German Castrol 0w30 to be better.

Tried reading most of the thread, looks great. Thanks a lot for helping the community with this project.
Have you had a chance to try Royal Purple? It just seems like the most popular on some other forums. But granted the other forums haven't done many UOAs so who knows? Granted it's a few bucks more, but I'm sure we'd all be willing to spend an extra $10 per oil change is there was a measurable difference.
Also, have you ever used Sea-Foam? I use it about once a year... Half bottle in with a full tank of gas, half bottle in with the oil about 500 miles before the next change. You wouldn't be able to send it in for a UOA but it might clean up the following interval?

I am sending in my next oil analysis today. Though I only have 2.2 k miles on the oil, it will still give us an idea of what the oil looks like when switching to synthetic early in a VQHR engine's life. (I switched out to synthetic at 1250.) I ended up changing the oil a bit earlier because one it's winter time here in Colorado, so I don't get to drive my Z as much. If there is snow or rain, she stays in the garage. And two, because I had a High Performance Driving Event coming up, I wanted to change out the oil for the trip there and of course for the event. I will go ahead and post the new results when I get them. Which should be pretty quick. They e-mailed me their results last within 4 days of me sending off the oil. We just have to remember, my engine only has around 6.8k miles on it, so I imagine their will be a high Silicon and Iron content present.

I love what you've done with your oil analysis. It is very helpful. This thead has sparked interest in myself to try some new stuff so last night I just picked up 4 quarts of Lucas Synthetic 5w-30 and 1 quart of the Lucas Synthetic oil stabilizer and am very anxious to see how it will perform. I may send it off to get an analysis and give a heads up of the results if anyones interested.
