Question Greddy Radiator Breather Question

When you install the Breather, what is the best way to fill the system, from the radiator cap or the breather cap or both and do you still fill the overflow tank to the min level? I have the Breather installed but not plumbed I'm waiting on the Greddy Adapter to connect to the lower radator hose. Is the lower radiator hose I.D. 32mm or is it something else.
I had trouble with overheating once and the overflow tank boiled over and the steam went directly into the passenger side front headlight any idea's as to how to shield the headlight from the steam (I have a 2004 Roadster)? All help is greatly appreaciated.
