+1

Also, if you're not finding any leaks, it's most likely the clutch master going out. That happened to me.

I got the recall done and the pedal was still sticking to the floor. New master fixed it.

Just get the ZSpeed setup (Wilwood HD master and ZSpeed HD slave)!

i called the 1800 nissan number and they looked up my car and gave me the go ahead to take it to the dealer to get the part fixed from the recall i asked if i could just bring my own part since many people are saying that if i put the OEM its just going to break again and they told me no. i can only get theyre part the wont install an aftermarket part which i thought was dumb but what ever i will just go with the part they provide but if it breaks again i will just buy the one your talking about . i was wondering if you know why the clutch only acts up when its hot ? is there a reason you could think of when its under 85 degrees its normal but this summer has been a real kick in the *** here in california and the clutch doesent always spring back out after i press it im like WTF!

Took my 'new' NISMO 350Z to Buttonwillow Raceway Park this weekend for its first real shakedown run (I also ran it at Laguna Seca months ago, but I drove it nicely since it was so new to me). As you may summarize based on me posting here, the slave failed on the 2nd day of my event, coincidentally (?) with the changing to a super sticky tire. I called my local dealership, and the slave was done both under recall and about 8,000 miles ago by the previous owner. I was hoping Nissan would replace it - again - but no luck. Bah!

It seemed like they would have done mine had it not been done before, but it didn't matter anyway.

Which is the "HD" one?

Default recall

I know I'm way late on this matter but I just bought 07 nismo #0577 and it has this problem. The Vin falls just outside the recall group. Nissan wants 110$ just to look at it and I know those idiots won't see what's going on. The dealership I bought it from said they don't cover it because it's not a part inside the transmission case. Is this somehow covered by lemon law? I bought the car two weeks ago and I don't see how it would be my responsibility to replace the slave cylinder. It has to be a safety issue of some sort, I can't be going down and picking the clutch up off the floor while driving, suggestions?

This would take a class action lawsuit to get any results for us.. My clutch is babied .. the car has 35k miles on it period.. never even dropped it for a quick burn out -- and the clutch has been messed up -- Doesn't slip like a typical slip (drop in 6th at 20mph and floor it) -- But it feels soft,.. and doesn't grip like it should.. it's a feel thing after driving manuals for over a decade. It only slips for about 1 second if I pass 4-5k RPM and shift quickly.. then it will slip 100-200 RPM or so then fall back and hold. Normal driving there is no slippage, but there is a definite "feel" that is wrong especially in 1st-3rd.

The Slave cylinder requires the tranny to be dropped.. in the VQ35HR's .. further the factory replacement doesn't FIX the issue permanently. If that doesn't qualify for a re-design and automatic full recall of ALL CSC clutches in the 350Z regardless then I don't know what does.

But it's money,.. I guess they fixed it for the 370's.

It's pretty sad you have to put an aftermarket Slave cylinder in to have confidence in your clutch system imho.

another option, which has worked for me SO FAR, is to insulate the exhaust near where the CSC is, as that's what's most likely making the unit fail. Since replacing mine on the HR and insulating the ART pipes, I haven't had a failure and have driven the **** out of the car at three track days.

Yes, it leaks up front.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:
A buddy with an 05' Z failed his SECOND clutch slave line. The line seems to be too short, as it actually 'pulled' and ripped near the top. I finally convinced him to buy the stainless steel line. Guys that track - you need to upgrade this line.

yeah i heard heat can accelerate the failure, i never thought of insulating the art pipes, but i do know there are times when i have the windows down i can feel the heat come up along the door

I just bought my new Z today, a upgrade from my 04 base Z. And it has this issue plus I fall under that VIN range. I'm the 3rd owner, car only has 21k

I saw that post back in 2008. I need to call to see if they are still offering the free service with it being 2015.

My 2007 Z falls under this campaign, I called and they said the campaign closed back in 2008. I could take it down to a local Nissan shop and have them check but there's no guarantee they will pay to fix it.

My clutch seems loose and when I let out the clutch in "N" I get this loud humming noise.

See your DUPLICATED thread asking the same thing.
