My tech is the ****. We were discussing drag racing, SCCA time trials events, etc.

He said as long as I kept up on maintenance and didn't let oil levels get low etc. that wouldn't have warranty issues, said tracking is fine as long as its not overly abusive (like if I were to break a half shaft).

^man i wish mine was like that. what pisses me off most about mine is that on the surface she is the nicest person in the world, u know, one of those "sweet", "personable," "nice" people, but when it comes to getting warranty coverage, everything is due to poor driving habits

The poor driving habits thing drives me nuts. They should not build a sports car and market it as this awesome driving machine if they do not want people driving it as intended

Thats what my tech told me, was that because (at the time) it was Nissan's "top" car in terms of image, and because it was a sports car bought to be driven hard, that issues caused by hard driving would be covered under warranty.

I truly applaud (he said a Nissan NA guy also agreed with that) Nissan for not backing out like Mitsubishi, etc. and voiding warranties.

Hell, Porsche really backs it, some dealerships include free on track driver's ed with new Porsches.

I think since its a manufacturing problem it should be included.

Its not required by NNA because the dealership has to eat that cost,but a good dealership will give you a loaner as good customer service.

I think it depends on the dealer honestly. Mine gives me one whenever I go in for anything.

I agree on the above. When you buy an M car, they teach you to drive it on the track.
People dont buy these kinds of cars to not beat them. Lets get real. Nissan knows that.

Im on the phone with them as we speak and they are sending me to a higher level of service due to the fact of the rental car should or should not be required. Also should the actual clutch plate be replaced too?

If they try to say Volks caused any problems I'd laugh my way into a different dealers service department.

I just got back from my dealership and they stated they had no clue about the recall issue. They were very helpful and stated within the first minute that everything would be taken care of. They ordered the new slave cylinder without the clutch assembly. I told them that Nissan said they would replace the clutch assembly and they didnt even double take to that. The guy that was doing it said cool and ordered a new one without even questioning anything. Overall I'm very excited to see what this is going to do to the feel of my Z

look at the official letter I posted on page 4 of this post. Tells you exactly what Nissan is supposed to do.

I specifically asked, they aren't instructed to replace the clutch unless there is some type of damage on it that is visible. I'm going to tell my tech to call me if mine is glazed.

just got a letter in the mail today from nissan explaining the problem with the slave cylinder.....tells me to bring the car in and all repair will be done free....

My VIN falls in the range, but I called nissan1 and they told me my car does not need the recall.

well i called nissan1 and they say yea bring it in but when i called the dealer he said there is a visual inspection before they will do the replacement. is that true for any of you guys?
