Default HR swap into an 03

I just picked up an HR long block and am planning on doing a swap this winter but I have a couple of questions:

does anyone know if the fuel injectors and fuel rail froma DE will work on an HR?

I know the HR has a new accesory drive setup, do you think the old accesories would work? Just the basics, alternator and power steeriing. I don't have AC.

Can any one cross reference the cam position sensors to se if they are the same?

I have an exra DE motor in the garage and I'm doing the HR swap for mostly track purposes, I'de like to keep it as cheap as I can.

Anyone have prices on OE plenum, lower intake, TBs, engine harness?

You, already got it and in the process of breaking it in. If the HR swap doesn't work, then I still have a great low milage DE running. If the swap does work I think there is more potential inthe HR motor long therm.

What part of keeping it on the cheap didn't you get? LOL

I picked up an HR long block for $350, long story but there was a really nasty pushy customer at a dealership and under duress they replaced the motor for an relatively minor issue.

My goal: #325-350 WHP in my 03 and getting the car ~2800# wet. THe car's weight is getting close and what a sweet deal on the long block.

My ideas:
Xerd headers, DE lower intake manifild, rev-up lower plenum, Modified Crawford upper plenum with Dual 68mm TBs, HKS FCon to tune. I think I could probably keep the 03 fuel system, assuming the DE Fuel rail will work and I don't have to replumb the whole car (don't really see why I would). I am not worried about heat or AC, functioning (I don't have it now). Will probably need some cams to handle all of that air. I might even be able to keep the 03 hood with the Crawford plenum, will have to wait and see. I've heard the HR block sits lower (got that from NNA), so I don't know why the goofy hood unless it is for the plenum cover (thank gawd they covered the plenum).

I think I can hit the #325+ WHP cheaper and easier with the HR motor rather than the DE motor, plus I love the RPMs.

For those tht don't know, I do a lot of Road course driving, I don't want turbos and I don't need massive HP, I think 325-350 with the drivetrain in the car is plenty, for now.

Fuel Rails are different for sure.

As far as the accessories, front cover has changed, so i doubt the old accessories will be a straight bolt on, although i haven't tried it to verify just how much works and doesn't work.

Crank pick up changes location, but i don't know if the sensor itself changed.

i'm too tired right now to try and remember all the changes off the top of my head, but basically the engine looks really close to the same, its just not close enough to be easy.

Fuel injectors from the DE will work in the HR, even with the rails being different.

Just an FYI.

thats what I thought, but the OP seems to think so. And how the hell is someone suppose to modify a crawford plenum to a dual intake? I don't think he realizes the crawford plenum actually replaces both the top and bottom plenums.

sounds like the start of a big project that could easily become a big mess.

Jeremy, thanks for the pics, I won't pick up the HR until labor day. Nice to see one out of the box. Looks like the HR plenum does the same thing as the DE, starves the front two cylinders. Looks like the water is completely different too.
