are all the VQ35HR bell housings the same? as in... the 07 G35 sedan 07, 08 350z etc...
I'm only asking because when looking for various 6MT tranny's
the VQ35HR THROUGH 5/07 seems compatible with the Z's AND G's
but the VQ35HR from the G sedan FROM 6/07 doesn't seem to be the same for some reason.
and the same is with the 08 350z. still a VQ35HR motor, but tranny not compatible with the 07...at least when looking for trannys in car-part.com's interface and others I've used.
I'm guessing the bell housing is still the same, and I know the 07's had a recall for the "clutch slave cylinder assembly" but that was just a recall...they should still be the same right?
Anyone know if there's a difference between the THROUGH 5/07 and FROM 6/07 VQ35HR trannys?
And which one would be the best for the VQ40DE (I know there's is a thread about tranny's on VQ40DE's BUT this is more about what is the difference between the VQ35HR trannys, if there is one)
Part # wise, good to go. "FS6R31A" only difference between the 350z,G35,Frontier, Xterra etc..is the gear ratio. But still a little cloudy on why the difference between the "through" and "from" dates
I know on the older G's and Z's it was revup vs non-reveup etc....
but what is the difference between the various VQ35HR's.
The obvious G sedan vs 350Z coupe....but the 08 Z vs the 07 Z is still up in the air.
any techs out there who have had these cars torn down and viewed first hand?
Overall: the pattern in Zeds, from 2003 through 2008, is a winning one: From "Average" to "Much Better Than Average", per CR's statistics.
That includes trannies, dude. Just referring to reliabilty here now---something I always take into consideration!
