Default Question about idle after start up.

is it normal when i start the car for the engine to be idleing at around 2k for about 30 seconds before it drops to about 600? i had a 04 zr and this never happend.. ive searched and couldnt find anything sorry if this has been asked before. 08 zr

Is it a cold start?

Mine at first start is at about 1400, then 1200, then 1000

yes cold start never happend with the 04. 08 i start her up its revving at like 2000 then gradually incrementally gets down to ~600

If its only 30 seconds, i probably wouldn't worry about it.

thats what im guessing just wanted some input from some guys with hrs if thats normal i dont want her to break well i guess shes warrantied anyways

The colder it is, the longer the warmup(high idle).

It's perfectly normal.

it's fine. my hr does it also when its cold. it goes around 1800, then drops after 30 sec. now if your transmission sounds like a super charger like mine did. then go to the dealer and have it replaced.

actually it takes like 1min 30sec + to get down to normal seems like it goes up down a little as its going down, other wise runs great im liking the HR
