My name is David, I'm cuban raised in Miami, Florida.

Well I have a beautiful 2008 350z (MT), Which I've owned for 6 months so far. Anyways yesterday while driving when I stepped on the clutch to shift gears, the clutch pedal went all the way back but wouldn't come up, so I had to lift It up with my feet. When I got home I checked the fluid on the reservoir and it was completely empty. I filled it up and got the clutch working again (thought the problem was fixed) drove to my friends house and on the way the same thing happened. The clutch just fell down and wouldn't come back. Popped the hood and noticed the reservoir was empty again, so it had to be leaking. Instead of towing it back home I filled up the brake/clutch fluid again and was enough to get home. I checked the bottom of the car and it was leaking from what seemed the slave cylinder. My question now, would the transmission have to be lowered to replace the slave cylinder? And if yes about how much I'm I looking on spending on this?

unfortunately the HR z were equipped with BS slave cylinder (CSC), and its time for you to upgrade to a heavy duty CSC and master cylinder while you at it.... if you replace it with OEM parts it will happen again and again. Zspeed sells a kit at a good price for an aftermarket kit. prob $500ish

You will need to drop the tranny and replace the CSC and Master,both need to be upgraded or you will be doing it again shortly. Zspeed and Z1 both have the replacement parts.

Welcome to the forum! The first two posts are correct, and you'll need a new clutch slave cylinder (CSC). As to how much it'll cost, labor rates vary from area-to-area, but you might consider doing it yourself (there's a DIY on here), if you have the tools and ability. Otherwise, a qualified tech will probably charge between 3.5- 4.0 hours to do it for you.

the z1 kit requires constant adjustment, the zspeed doesnt. the first time i had mine done i paid a shop and they charged about 650 to do it

I did the full zspeed kit, with the upgraded slave, braided line and wilwood master. Much better stuff than stock parts, although my stock parts were still working, I just changed the clutch due to slippage under power and upgraded everything while I was in there.

Thank you all for the replies, I replaced the CSC with an oem one, fortunately my dad's friend did the the job and charged me $250. Now time to replace the rear bumper :P

doh!.... it will go out again, it is just a matter of time.

Stay away from high RPM drops out of first, it will keep that OEM replacement CSC happy for awhile.

Damn, ouch. I'll make sure to upgrade when I change my clutch. Hopefully my new CSC doesn't fail me. But like you guys said its a matter of time.
