Default Problem Starting

Hello I'm a new guy here and I need some advice. I have a 2007 350Z HR, 62,000 miles, w/ automatic transmission. Recently I have difficulty starting the motor once it is warmed up. When cold, it starts within a second of turning the ignition but when warmed up it takes several (3-5) attempts to start. The battery is strong, motor turns over rapidly. It almost acts like the motor is not getting spark. Once it does start it runs perfectly.

I have owned the car for three years and this problem just began within the past two months and it's getting progressively worse.

Any thoughts where I should start looking??

Thanks in advance.

Yes- your Z is equipped with a sophisticated diagnostic system. Pull the codes at a local parts store, or get your own code reader to determine what the problem is. Don't guess and throw parts/solutions at the car.

Thanks for the prompt responses. I guess I made a newbie mistake and failed to mention I do not get a CEL status nor have I tried to determine if I can obtain a code reading. Will there be a code if no CEL appears?

The Nissan diagnostic system will retain codes even if a CEL is not activated. So, yes, you should have a scan done (or even better, get a quality program like UpRev's Cipher so you can do it yourself).
