Hey 37VHR guys,

Does the VQ37VHR crank have any well known markings on it that confirm the crank is a 3.7L crank?

I ask this because I have a VQ35HR that I had a shop build that I had to pull my car out of because they started being really shady.

Supposedly they swapped in a 37VHR crank into the 35HR block but I do not quite believe this due to their sketchyness but was wondering what I could have my builder check for if there is something obvious on the crank that ID's it as a 37VHR crank.

Try asking the same question over on a 370z forum also. Maybe one of the built motor guys over there could help.

Will do, thanks. And just another note I did notice the crank in the 37VHR seems to have a date stamp on it according to some parts sites, so I'm thinking if the date stamp is in the 09+ range it's a VHR crank. But will check over there to see if that crowd can confirm.

My builder ended up measuring out the stroke and bore of the built motor after re-assembly and it came out to 86mm stroke and 96mm bore - 3735cc (3.7L). So all ended well.

For those interested it looks to of just been a VQ37 crank directly swapped in with Eagle VQ37 rods and custom CP pistons. The stroker kit only cost me the basic rod/piston cost so was extremely cheap. Not a bad little trick for lesser motor guys who have a VQ35HR but also possibly not looking to buy into a BC stroker kit or something of the like as those get very expensive in comparison. Not the biggest jump, but I'll take .2L than not

Hopefully have some power results in the next couple months as the rest of the car comes back together that I'll post in the VQ35HR forum.

hmm i was reading that the crank is a direct swap, and the standard 3.7 pistons were a swap, but you needed to run the 3.5 rods..
