Each gen Z since the 240z has has gotten a bigger motor and each gen gets higher pitched with a larger motor. Not sure why this is. My 280z sounds like I have a V8 under the hood and most people who don't know Z's think it's a V8. My 300zx on the other hand is decently deep in the lower rpms but up high it gets raspy. The 90+ 300zx is still deep down low but not as deep as the Z31. Higher up it's not raspy like the Z31 but it is higher pitched. The 350z is pretty high pitched from low to high rpm. I know a lot of people who think they sound like larger engine 4cly (ex prelude, 240sx, etc). This 370z is the highest pitched Z there is. It's also damn quiet. At idle it can barely be heard and at low rpm revs it's still quite.

I prefer the exhaust note of the 350z, it's getting higher pitch with time, but this does sound bad *** and mean! Why the 370z sound so much different than G37 though???
Love all these exhaust notes from different generations....

I love it! Almost as much as the original VQ burble. If you take a look at the exhaust in the underbody shots, you will realize that there is plenty more noise to be made in the cat-back.
