Help with a stripped Nissan Wheel lock nut
I put Nissan wheel lock nut on both of my rear wheels, while tightening the rear-right-wheel, the master key snapped, and so did the groove from the locknut.
I took it to local Discount Tire to see if they can get the damaged locknut out, but no luck. Then I took it to the Dealership, they're unable to either. The only suggestion from them is to flame torch it out, which means the wheel will be damaged, no longer usable.
Am I SOL? Are there any alternative method to get that stripped lock nut out? (I guess I feel somewhat lucky it's OEM 17" wheel on right now, instead of my iForged FS Aeros)
Any suggestion is appreciated!

buy a cheap regular deep socket that barely doesn't fit over the lock and agressively hammered it in and then with a regular socket wrench, loosen the lock. then simply throw away the socket and lock since they will not be coming apart anymore.

I just went through the same thing. Sears craftsman sells a socket for damaged locking nuts or bring it to any wheel shop. They should have the same. Takes 5 minutes. Did you have the Mcgard locks. They should recall those frickin things.

And thanks for everyone's advice. It's greatly appreciated! I will try them. I just can't believe dealership can't get it out?!? I think they just want to jack me for $, talking about $150 to torch it out, and more $ to order an OEM wheel.

Same thing happened to me a while ago on my previous car. Just go to any decent tire shop and they should have a spline socket. It's basically a lug nut socket with V-shaped ridges/splines in it. It's somewhat tapered from front to back so when they put it on the stripped nut, they can hammer it on lightly allowing the splines to cut into the nut, thereby gripping it. Then just use the impact wrech and voila, it comes off.

I've personally done it with my old Z... My buddy, a railroad mechanic, actually did it for me. I was like...wholly crap, it worked!
You can then take a pin and knock it out on the vice if you want.
Good LUck
