There's a lot expert advice and not-so-expert persons posting here too... I won't mention any names... you know who you are 
I'm no expert but I'm 56 years old and I've been around the globe a few times. Here's what I think: You don't have to spend a zillion dollars on wheels and tires to get quality for your daily driver/occasional rip car.
I personally DO NOT like the Enk (abb with purpose) wheel this board seems to favor. In fact I hate them. I searched for something "different".
On my BMW 3-series coupe I installed a no-name "cheap" set of staggered wheels and low buck tires. For about a grand I had a great looking set of sneakers that got a lot of compliments. I regularly drive the car 125+ mph for short periods of time.
Here is what I settled on for my Z-
245's front on 18x8 wheels (measured 9" when installed)
275's rear on 18X9 wheels (measured 10" when installed)
F&R have +40 offset with 20mm spacers.
Sumi II's
Under $1100 installed TOTAL
Smooth and straight at 145 mph indicated
The beautiful redhead that drives the car everyday loves them and that matters most

not lazy....I did my research and am thinking of going with Enkei ts9s now...because they are lighter.
Tell me what you think of these instead?
Enkei 18x8.5 with 25mm offset
Enkei 18x9.5 with 15mm offset
This extends the fronts an extra 18mm out and the rear an extra 37mm out compared to the stock wheels according to the 1010tires.com offset calculator.

you could then do a 255/40 front and 275/40 rear and it would keep the shoulder of the tired squared up (maybe that was just my ocd kicking in)

No reason really, just figured I'd stick with it since the car is staggered stock. Did you have better handling with all wheels being the same?
A tire calculator said I could run:
255/40R18 tires front and 285/35R18s in the back but I will probably rub with that setup? I am at stock height..

you know it was so long ago when i did that setup, i cant remember what it drove like in stock form. i had no complaints on how it handled, i did it mainly for looks, it takes up more of the front wheel well. being at stock height you wont rub

yea looks like stocks are +30 front and +33 rear
if I go with the setup I posted my fronts will be 18mm further out and rear 37mm further out.
If I go with 10mm spacers up front I can make the fronts 28mm out from stock. Sound better?

man thats your call, me personally i didnt want spacers.... my thinking is if you get the right wheels and offsets you shouldnt need them. i know plenty that use them, it just wasnt for me. not sure where you are, but maybe you can find someone local with different setups that you can see in person

yea true. I would prefer not to use spacers. The way I see it, the fronts are going to be 20mm out further than they were before and rears will be 38mm further out so they will look a lot better than they were.

Never use spacers when picking out a set of wheels at all costs... It's such a compromise to waste hard earned money to 'make' a wheel fit. So many good wheels out there with good fitment out of the box. I understand if they were rare wheels, and such a once in a lifetime offer...and you have to have them. That's different. But if you are buying brand new then I see no point whatsoever in spacers.

That being said Tirerack had the enkei wheels and tires for $1900.
Anybody know of similar looking wheels with similar offset I can get for less? I'm hoping to be under $1,500.

Been a couple months since I posted about the Square Wheels, just finalizing tire purchase.
Sound good?
Square Wheels G6: 18x9.5 +12 all around
Michelin PSS: 245/40/18, 265/40/18 (maybe 275 if Costco can special order)
Stock suspension (albiet looks a lil low, 80k on original springs/shocks)
