As soon as I got my '06 a few weeks ago, I ditched the OE BS' and had some Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S (245/275/40/18's) mounted up. Excellent tires. Quiet, smooth riding with good turn in and grip. Also reasonably priced...less bucks then PS2's.

[quote=ericjackson]the rears look fat on the stock 18" wheel. but i think it looks good, now that i have the 245s in the front they look awesome. but i think it would look funny if you went wider on the stock wheels. but who knows. if you want i can take a pic[/quote
I have the stock 18' wheels with 225/45/18 Front and 245/45/18 rears. Due to difficulties in finding these sizes in tires that I want, I was considering going with 245/40/18 fronts and 255/45/18 rears.
TireRack advised me that this setup would rub on the fronts and perhaps on the rears. It seems that you have same sizes on the stock 18 inch rims. do you have any rubbing on the inside or outside sidewalls on either fronts or rears?
Do you have photos of your set-up?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
Cheers

The sidewall on them is not quite as stiff as the stock ones (prob. contributes to the quiter ride) which means you can feel them flex a little under hard cornering, but well worth the extra grip.
Just to give you an idea how much better the grip is, I used to be able to break loose in 1st and 2nd gear in straight line acceleration with the stock tires pretty easily, but as long as I'm on good dry roads the car refuses to break loose on my new tires.
I would have gone with the Falken Azenis RT-615, but they don't have any sizes that will fit the stock rims and still maintain the stock height ratios which means it'll either effect the speedometer or it will cause the VDC to kick in more often.
Oh yeah, the thing that made the final decision was that I got all 4 of my tires at Costco including warranty, tax, installation, etc for a grand total of $650.00.

What size BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW NT's are you running?
They make the KDW NT in 245/40R18 size but only the "older" KDW in the 275/40R18 size....

Ive had bridgestone potenzas, bfg kdw2;s and now Im getting a set of toyo t1-r's. IMO the bfg;s where the best ive had on any of my cars. The grip was awesome in dry or wet conditions and the tread wear was awesome. I woulda went back to them but they are too expensive and I wanted to try something new. I hope the toyo;s t1-r's work good for me

as far as the comment goes before about Toyos being hype.. eh. i would disagree.. the T1Rs are great after you break them in after a few hundred miles.
fairly quiet road noise. on the street they're just about as good any any other tire.. . but once they get warm, they're get sticky. they held up great on the track and i was relatively pleased... but if they're super hot (i.e. drifting) they start to chunk up... grip in dry weather is predictable... and although it would be suicide to punch it in the rain for my car, they held up decent during the wet cali months.. the water channeling was good, and i didnt hydro...
however i do miss the T1S... i felt those were better dry weather tires...

I'm debating between the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and the BFG KDW2s. Need something that I can also use at the drag strip as well as the strip...decisions decisions...
My Pirelli F-Zeros are bald in the rear (285/35/18's) I have 9.5 inch rims back there, I want a similiar size to what I have now but in the goodyears or bfgs'...

I had some gs-d3s on a couple cars and i love that tire, screw the toyo t1r's soft sidewalls, i hate it. Car feels sloppy and unstable.

Like some others said...this is a popularity poll, but hey, for what its worth:
The Azenis RT-615 are great for street driving. Treadwear is so-so, but that is the price you pay.
BFG KDW 2s for a close 2nd. If I werent running the Azenis RT-615, I would probably be running these. Grip, wet handling, and treadwear are all there for a streer tire.

I just ordered BF G-Force T/A KD 245/40ZR-18 and 275/40ZR-18 from Discount Tire. How do I make sure I am getting the latest version of the tire? Did they change the tire recently? By the way, four of these BF tires are about $350 more than the 452 Falkens. I'm thinking I should have ordered the Falkens.....

i have used the dunlop direzza dz101's and dunlop sport maxx tires with great results...
for performance...the sport maxx tires kill the direzza's but for all around street tires...the direzza's are definitely winners...
