Curbed a wheel but no damage - Stainless Rim Protector
I managed to curb a wheel while trying to get into a DIY carwash stall. I was expecting the worst - damage if not chunking of the polished lip on one of my rear Racing Sparco DS-II wheels. To my amazement all I saw was black smear and had assumed my BFG KDW NT rim protector had saved my butt. I rubbed the smear off during the car wash. I would've at least expected a part of the lip rashed and broken off.
Then I saw a post about Racing Sparco and GTNPU Z posted about how the Racing Sparco line is made by Crimson, a company in Japan. So I look at their website and I found a very interesting feature about the DS-II wheels...a stainless steel rim protector. Wow I've curbed wheels before including expensive Volks and I expected the same from the DS-II's but nothing.
I really have to say that the quality of these wheels and price value are pleasant surprises. But I would assume this protector also adds weight to the wheels.
