So I decided to change my winter wheels again. 2013 they were gloss white, then 2014 I dipped them purple, now for this year I went with pearl white. I am actually kind of excited to see how they will look on the car.
Old thread but never saw it before. Here's my touring v2's painted gunmetal. Paid a wheel shop $300 to paint them mainly because I was working so much at the time, I didn't have time to do it myself. I bought some enter caps from a gt-r or 370 that were almost a perfect match to the wheel color. I'm currently in the market for wheels again. As of now, I've narrowed it down to a set of 4 front track v2's or gram light 57dr's in gun blue. If I end up going with the track v2's, I'll probably paint them darker, maybe same color as these. I really just want some wider wheels so I can run wider tires.

I'm still on the tires the car came with when I bought it. They're some mediocre Sumitomo all season. Car was super clean but the first time I checked tire pressure they were at 44 psi

Funny, I have a set of V1s in my balcony too (1.5 yrs...wife not happy). I didn't know 245/40/18 + 255/40/18 would work. does this combo not mess-up VDC?

Proven combo that people have been running for over 10 years. Just a slight amount of effort, you may have noticed.

pretty sure the stickies have 245/40/18 + 275/40/18
And I have seen/read people argue that 275 is too wide of a tire for 8.5" wheel, so they have gone with 245/40/18 + 265/40/18. Plenty of other threads, so the "effort" has not necessarily brought clarity to the question.

I think it's probably best to stick to recommended sizes..
This is a universal chart. V1s are 8" front and 8.5" rear.

I like that look. They definitely look polished and do not look chromed.
I assume the same technique is possible to repair scratches. Buff the scratches smooth and then polish the entire wheel. It’s nice knowing there’s a solution to “wheel rash.”
And so it begins...I had originally wanted 4 fronts in these but I gave up on that idea because I really didn't want to run spacers on the back. These are going to get a facelift. They're gonna be darker, probably similar to the touring v2's that are on my car now. I just haven't decided yet if I'm going to paint or powder coat. I've got an uncle who has a powder coat shop so I'll likely go that way if I can find the right color.
Bump for a question. I have stock 2004 wheels, wanting to strip the original paint then polish them to almost chrome finish. The question is has anyone stripped these down to bare aluminum and was the inside of the spokes machined or just cast aluminum? I don't want to do a lot of wet sanding before polishing. I have plenty of experience polishing aluminum. But wet sanding sucks. I might just paint them if they are cast.
