track day tires size for car with VDC
I just purchased a 2006 350Z GT with the stock Rays 18x9/19x10 wheels. I will run the stock GT wheels (18x9/19x10) on the street.
However, I have also purchased a set of stock 2006 350Z wheels (18x8/18.8.5) for track days and I would like to run Falken RT 615 tires for track days (only) to save money on tires. (I run about 5-8 track days a year).
NOTE: I plan to turn VDC OFF for track days and don't care about looks, just good traction.
My problem is size..... Falken doesn't make a 245-45-18.....they do make:
225-40-18 and 225-45-18
245-40-18
255-40-18 and 255-45-18
So what can I run safely?
245-40 all around
245-40 and 255-40
245-40 and 255-45
255-40 and 255-45
others????
I have looked thru many, many post and have not found this info,,,sorry is this is a stupid question from a 350Z newbie. And yes I have tried to do the 3% calculations,,,,,just don't have any experience with this car.
Thnx for the help,,,

I don't want to go to R-Comps until I can get 100% out of a street tire.....I am almost there, but not yet.
I think too many go to Rcomps too soon, and never really learn how to drive well because of that.
