Default The unofficial Replica Wheel Thread

Pics and comparisons started on new blog:

www.FakeWheels.com

I started to do a bit of searching on some wheels and was REALLY surprised at the amount of replica/imitation wheels out there. Post your replica wheels and the original wheel which was knocked-off. This thread is not intended to bash anyone, just to shed light on how widespread this practice is. I'll start with a few. Feel free to make any corrections.

I'm starting a list on wheel replicas, and I'm getting some additional contributions from more ppl. Feel free to add to this list if you like. This thread is not intended to bash anyone, just to shed light on how widespread the replica market has become, and hopefully become the most comprehensive replica wheel database available. I'm not too familiar with the euro and domestic market, so those will be needed as well!

If you always wondered where the design came from, this is the list! This also may also help those who want the "Work/Volk/BBS/etc" look, but the replica prices. It's your money, and your decision.

Hmmm...never realized pretty much every Rota wheel is a replica.

Well I've noticed alot of wheels from iForged, DPE, Sevas Forged, etc is pretty much the same.

haha...unless you show a lot of companies doing this it doesn't appear to be too widespread.

^ there are some subtle difference between the Meister and SP1's, Meisters spokes are a bit more fatter then the Sp1. But feel free to add this to the list if you wish.

Very informative thread.

I would also add several of the wheels from Luff & Ruff (Muff?) since they are mostly
BBS knockoffs..

Well, if we're going to argue small details, we can also argue that the Rota Grid has a more concave face than the TE37. Or that none of the Rotas are 3 piece.

Wow, this might be the most comprehensive list out on the web! Thanks all for contributing! And again, please make corrections if needed. And this list also might be helpful for those who don't want the work, volk, etc. wheel for "looks", but looking for a cheap replica.
