Yes, it's a temperature sticker. I haven't got to the track yet, so it hasn't even registered yet. I think it measures the highest temp that the caliper reaches. They're not that expensive, but you have to look around to find a place that sells them.

had bare pc'd white wheels in the past that were difficult to clean the brake dust off totally, especially where the spokes curved in the center of the wheel to go back up for the next spoke. had them completely sanded down, redo the powdercoat and had my paint guy shoot a couple coats of clear and it was far easier to clean.
could actually just dust it off with a old tshirt before I rode out in the mornings.
if you do get it cleared make sure its a good high quality clear as some have a slight tint of off white when sprayed on. there is a european clear coat that they say is the best in terms of clarity and durability but don't recall the name.

depending on how caked on the brake dust/dirt is on my white rims i use either
1) water diluted with soap from a spray bottle
2) standard no scrub wheel cleaner (i.e. Black Magic, Eagle One)
3) or for those tough stains i use a heavy degreaser called Grime Reaper
i buy it from here http://www.chemicalguys.com/SearchRe...x=0&Search.y=0
i use a soft bristle brush or rubber detailing finger glove to scrub.
