haha..
the funny thing is no one seems to mind i have 9.5 in wide Axis wheels on the back of my car right now.
I wont "defend" these wheels... it is what it is.. but this goes back to the whole brand ***** debate..
Im a huge brand ***** hooker..dont get me wrong. ( ha).
But this IS the only forum knocking them.. supra forums seem ok w them.. g37 driver likes them.. but we are all terrible.
Guys as far as my car goes.. its a daily driver.. im not buying 4 thousand dollar wheels. Forgestar f14s are gonna take ill spacers still. why do that? Id rather sport a cheap wheel i wont sh#t about when i hit a pot hole.. when i get another car, this one goes into the garage and will be able to go FI and maybe get some ill wheels..
SO until then, Ill reserve judgement and hold my tongue. haha

^apparently the z community has better taste.
knockoffs are lower quality, which means they break more. if you don't want to break your wheels, just buy authentic wheels... or learn to dodge potholes like any modified car driver worth their weight in te37 dust would.

FYI, I've commute the last 4 years rocking different volks/rays and never had a problem. Freeways and street roads around San Francisco are the worse. Even on times, road workers don't put freaking signs when they left their projects half way done!

yep..
@ Terrasmk: totally. thanks. I didnt catch who it was up top, but widebody and performance.. um not so much. haha. Widebody is totaly for looks only.
No one at SCCA is rollin a widebody.
Theres a big diff between rolling a big tire up front and maybe some spacers and tracking your car .....and cutting out your fenders and bolting on fiberglass that requires you push your wheels out 3 inches a side.. its the opposite of true performance.. and its ENTIRELY for looks.
And it looks good and I like it, and someother people do too, just my cup of tea i guess.
Regardless.. to those who see something wrong with me not buying 5 thousand dollars worth of wheels.. i bet you voted for Obama.. haha.
Lots of finger pointing, yet no solutions.
Other than buying a set of Work VSXX or IForged wheels.. you tell ME what I should buy.
SO go off and google it right up.. find a set of twenty inch wheels from any manufacturer..... now find a set they make a 11 to 12 inch wide wheel for the rear.... now find me on where they make a reasonable offset.
You will quickly find that 3 peice wheels are the ONLY ones that fit this. PERIOD.
Oh wait, aside from these wheels.
so its 800 bucks of 4 thousand bucks.
SO what do i get for my 3200 dollars? Sure, a better wheel. I will give it that. But by what margin really.. truly.
BREAK A WHEEL? Seriously? I bet not.
So what i get for my 3200 dollars is props on the forum.
Thats REALLY what it comes down to.
Im 33 fellas.. got better stuff to do, like a trip to Tahoe to snowboard this month. Or a nice set of dining room chairs from copenhagen for my loft.
Im just syain, your arguments are valid, but in the meantime.. theres other stuff to life than 4k dollar wheels. Id buy a used set of modulars if they were out there in my offest..
so after all this.. see how these terribel lame XXRs make sense for someone other than yourself? It happens.. im not mad, but i am pointing out that its not a question of taste at all... its called opportunity cost.

Just had to give you crap, but yes there are some widebody race cars , most of them have more money than both of us make a year, nothing like yours or my current ride. If i were in your shoes, i would just wait around a look for a set of stretch and poke wheels to come up used. They won't be stretch and poke with your widebody, they should actually sit dam near perfect. Yes they will cost a bit more than $800 , but won't be even close to the $4k for new.

well
ordered them.
Shoudl have em in amonth or so rwhenever they actually land on the boat form China or whereever they make em.
If the gloss black looks lame, ill just have em powdercoated dark gold or flat black.
Nice for some daily driving wheels. 860 bucks, could easily sell them later for a few hundo...
Done.

I think you made a good buy. If your car isn't a track car their is no need to have the lightest wheels on the market. Plus there is a million other things you could do with your money, like invest.

im a noob to wheels...im at stock height...so i dont think i need to worry about fender rolling at the moment...regardless of width/offset...right
the xxr 527 is almost exactly what i have been looking for in a wheel...concave...no lip...budget friendly...
will this work...18x8.75+20 for the fronts and rears...will this look okay...or do i need to go with a smaller width for the fronts...

oh dear, dude those are far too small for the rears.
if you cant fit the 526 properly and still need a cheap rim, look at any of thier other styles.. same price but you can get a 10 in the back w no issues whatsoever. try the 006s.
They make a zillion wheels that fit the Z.

526, gloss black... 20x9 +35 20x11+15.... i have some hubcebtric 5mm spacers fr and 30mm rear.. and with the tire i use up front, its as wide as i need.. (i run 255 up front and 305 out back. )
btw, with the money saved form NOT buying a more expensive ( forgestars as planned) wheel i ordered a JWT flywheel/clutch/ ssline/nismo bearing/ pivot ball kit, a solid alum trans mount, ss brake lines, new rotors and pads, a TWM short shifter, a magnaflow x pipe for my HKS clone b'ish exhaust, a JWT pop charger, and a webasto sunroof, which will be wrapped in black vinyl as well. . haha.
bang.
Ready for summer for sure.

should i go with 18x8.75+20 for the fronts and 18x9.75+20 for the rears...
feel free to let me know if i misunderstood you entirely...also i would not be able to use the stock tires for the above measurements right...i would need to get wider tires???...
