Swapping For Track
I am looking to run slicks on my car for track days, but I also want to keep it street legal to enjoy it on the roads. I have coilovers.
Currently I am running some Varrstoen ES 2 wheels 18x9.5+12 (275/35/18) 18x10.5+15(295/35/18)
I want to get a second set of wheels for the track and put slicks on them. My goal is to make it as easy as possible not having to align/ re-corner balance between swaps at the track.
Question: I am considering getting just a second set of the same wheels and tires (only slicks of course) and doing that for the closest results, but was wondering what kind of difference I would be looking at if I went with a different brand just for fun/ upgrade (say a set of Volks or RPF1s that are the same exact size wheel).
Will there be an incorrect alignment? Will it affect my corner balance?
Has anyone had any experience with this? Your advice will be greatly appreciated! No luck finding enough about this on here so far.

After considering what it would take to convert my T3-spec SCCA Z to run World Challenge Pirelli slicks, I decided the effort wouldn't be worth it. Slicks require a much stiffer suspension than what's allowed in T3, together with different suspension settings (camber in particular) to maximize their traction profile.
So "easy" is not what you're looking for if you intend to run slicks at the track. It'll be a far cry than just bolting a set on and expecting them to stick. If you drive your Z to the track, you'd be better off using something like the Hoosier R6/7 or BFG R1 or S and retaining your street setup. Maybe you're getting some slicks at a discount, but even so, the money saved may not equal the performance you hope to gain...
