Unhappy Volk Racing wheel question...need major help... :(

Hey folks, new to the forum here. After finally getting my 350Z that I have wanted for years...I got t boned 50 hours after receiving the car. the car came with Volk Racing GT-V wheels and one of the rims got severely damaged in the accident. For those who are not familiar with these wheels, they are a two piece rim...predecessor to the current GT-F that is currently available so needless to say they are discontinued. The spoke part of the wheel seems to be un-damaged but does have scrapes on it...my question is this;

Does anyone know where I can purchase the outter part of the two piece rim?
if not just the outter part, does anyone know where I can buy 1 GT-F rim? Seems like most shops sell them in a set of 4.

How do I got about getting this rim fixed? I have also heard that they can bang the outter part out with a brass hammer or something to bring it back??? I really don't know which way to look on getting this fixed!

if its a 2 piece wheel, any wheel repair shop should be able to order the barrel. if the face is fine and all you need is the barrel than call around with the size and width, they should be able to find a barrel to match.

Is the barrel special? Super light weight because it's Volk Racing? Or is it more like a "universal" part more or less?

Forged barrels are easy to get, you can even get a second barrel to be perfectly matching with a different offset if you really want

Do you know of a few places that would have them in stock or be able to order them? I need one ASAP and i can order online if need be. I live in a very small town and places around here probably don't see these things often. Most of them see pickup trucks and SUV's

GT-F rims are discontinued by RAYS since 2011 or 2012! so you should look for a used one or as terrasmak said get a "aftermarket" barrel. i think the GT-S has the same barrel as the GT-F since they have pretty much the same offset! but you should double check that before buying one

I would contact this website about it: http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/gt-v.htm

I was looking at getting new barrels for my volk challenges (also discontinued) and they were very helpful with info. Also, they specifically state that only single wheels can be bought since they are discontinued and no longer have full sets

I'd definitely give a wheel repair shop a shot. http://www.awrswheelrepair.com/ is a company that is out there. If they can't fix it they will be able to get the parts I would imagine for you. I have had them fix several wheels locally and they do a great job.

^^^ This.

If anyone has the barrel in stock, these guys would be the one I'd go to first to check.

They also "clearance" a number of single, discontinued Volk models. Taking a quick look at their clearance page ( http://www.upgrademotoring.com/clear...gle_wheels.htm ), the following GT-F/GT-V models are "currently available":

Volk Racing GT-F 19x9.5 5x114.3 +30* Matt Diamond Cut/Black. Regular Price $1,041.00 each $895.00 each 1 Available

Volk Racing GT-V 19x8.0 5x100 +36 Gun Metal. Regular Price $932.00 each. $795.00 each 2 Available

Volk Racing GT-V 19x8.0 5x100 +49 Matte Graphite. Regular Price $969.00 each. Display. $825.00 each 1 Available

Volk Racing GT-V 19x9.5 5x114.3 +49 MG. Regular Price $1,005.00 each BUY NOW! $850.00 each 1 Available

Note sizes and fit.... two are NOT correct PCD or offset BUT, if the dimensions (diameter and offset) are the same as your wheels, it's "possible" that the barrels can be used for the faces you have. (I doubt it but this shows the resource to obtain them is there.) Check with them though.

Good luck!

Mic

Like Mic said, you may be able to get barrels from another volk model that do fit. I actually talked to UpgradeMotoring about that with my Volk Challenges and they said it is very possible that another barrel could fit my wheel but they couldn't confirm which models would.

My rim size I'm looking for is larger than what they have in the clearance section so I may just have to buy one of the newer models. The size I need is a 19x10.5 with a +24 offset. But I will definitely call them for help.

Just wanted to give everyone an update...

Contrary to popular belief, the barrel to a Volk racing rim IS NOT easy to find and cannot be ordered separately. I have tried 3 local shops that cannot fix or order the barrel and I called upgrade motoring and although they have been a great help, we still don't know for sure if the GT series wheels barrels are interchangeable...
