For those of you 350Z subscribers who are in the upstate New York ’s Capital District, we would love to hear from you!
Our Z club has approximately 50 members and is growing; hopefully some of you Z owners will be interested in joining us at our monthly meeting or at least participate in some of our activities. Our next show is at The Saratoga Auto Museum on June 26th and 27th . Check out our webpage for more information pertaining to show, meetings and events
Oh, did I mention there were no membership fees?
We are a club of young and old (although not so old that we can’t drive our Z’s)
Our member rides cover the complete Z anthology. Ranging from restored stock 240’s to current 350’s and 370’s, and all shapes and sizes stock and modified between.
Many of our members are mechanically inclined and are very familiar with the inner workings of Z’s, thus providing valuable information to those of us who are not.
The following is a brief history of The Z Association Of New York - ZANY
Late in 1996 Chris Holmes, of Troy , put an ad in the local Want Ad Digest for Z car parts. The last line of the ad read "Call if interested in Z car club". Shortly afterward he received a call from Jeff Fox and Al Smith, both from Schenectady . In the summer of 1997 Jeff and Chris attended the National Convention held by the White Rose Z Club in York , PA. There, along with seeing some incredible Z cars, they attended a seminar on how to start a Z car club. The speaker, "Mad" Mike Taylor", a very interesting character, gave them his blessing and they were on their way.
1998 turned into a banner year for the club. Along with membership rising we took on the task of running a Z car show. In July we held the first annual Northeast Z Car Show at Jerry Rome Nissan in West Springfield , MA . With some hard work and help from our friends from the New England Z Club we put on our first successful show. Approximately eighty cars showed up. The show ran successfully for two years at Jerry Rome. In 2000 the show was moved to Syracuse at Burdick Nissan and the name changed to Northeast Z Adventure 2000. The Pinnacle was reached in 2005 when the three New York Z clubs, ZANY, ZCCR and ZACNY hosted the International Z Car Convention with Mr. K and company honoring us with their participation.
With these roots how can we go wrong? Join us and ENJOY THE RIDE!
