Angry If you want it done right...

I've been personally hand washing and waxing my car for over a year (LS ZR 04). I finally broke down and brought it to a reputable detailer and had it hand washed and the inside vacuumed for 16 bucks. I specifically asked them if they are careful and avoid swirl marks etc. Guess what? Paint swirls from hell in the clearcoat. Crap. Is there a way to fix that-- I did not let them wax it, I'll do that myself this weekend. I guess there are no shortcuts... If you want something done right....you know.

yea my black car went to hell after the hand wash. but honestly, what "reputable detailer" is 16 bucks? that's just your average hand wash place that uses the same towels on everyone's car. a good detail job will run near 100 bucks

i only brought mine to one of these places bc my hose is off for the winter. but i'm never doing it again.

my spring project: swirl removing!

better luck to you in the future

srmd22....really sorry to hear about that .......

I spend time on the following forum for any detailing solutions I need......a really good forum, not only providing products but "how to clinics".....hope you find it helpful.

I don't really have that problem with my Super Black...there are too many scratches in the cheap-azz paint to notice swirl marks.

i gotta say, you get what you pay for. $16 for a deatail? I pay 100-150 for a detail for my cars (per car). My detailer is the BEST. He deals with enzos, bentleys...... I would hire someone who uses a rotary buffer to buff out the swirls for you, but its not going to be cheap.
