Any One Else's Dome Light Gone Out?
 

I gave my car to a valet a few weeks ago and when I got the car back, I noticed the dome light was out. I didn't notice this until hours later when I was fumbling with CD's while driving.

The dealer says that the car has some energy-saving feature when the door is open. He thinks the valet started the car while the door was open and the "energy saving feature" caused some short in the dome light.

I've taken the car to the dealer twice now and they still can't fix the problem. They ordered a new "body control module", which I'm not even sure what it does, and put it in. Anyway, there's still no power going to the dome lights.

I have to take the car back a 3rd time in a couple of weeks when a Nissan Engineering Rep can try to fix it.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Mine has never wokrked. Let me know what they looked at so far and what they think it is. Does your mirror lights work? I dont trust the dealer with my car yet. They will mess something up, I just know it.

I had my dome light and visor lights go out one day. I think it may have been a day I had to visit a friend on a dirt road and something might have been rattled loose or broken. That was two or three weeks ago but I haven't had the time to take the Z in and get it fixed...maybe I'll do it now that there's too much snow on the ground to drive it...

Reminds me of the clocks in the 240 Z's...my dad's clock didn't work after the first month he owned his...still has it after 31 years and the darn thing won't stay working for more than a month (replacements)

we have a dome light??? I thought we just had reading lights....

Sorry, yes...reading lights and vanity mirror lights are both out...

I had this happen to me too while I was doing my install. Fix it by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it.

Mine are both out now......
