Default 18750 Maintenance

Just got a letter from Nissan yesterday telling me to come on by for 18,750 mile maintenance. I bought my car used at a Mercedes/Porsche/Audi dealership (in Tysons Corner - HBL) with about 15.5k miles. The guy at Palone Nissan who I've serviced the Z at (for TSB's and GPS) in the past told me that 18,750 maintenance is just an oil change in addition to 15,000 mile maintenance. The thing is, I don't know if the previous owner had the car serviced at 15,000 miles or not before he traded it in -- doubtful, why would he if 500 miles later he'd be getting rid of it?

He told me that all 15,000 mile maintenance is is:

- Oil & filter change
- Air filter change
- Micro filter change (what's the micro filter?)

I'll just do this on my own with my stepdad, just wanted to double check with everyone else and see if there's anything else I should do at this point. The guy at Nissan told me that 30,000 mile maintenance is the next big one that I definitely should take it in for.

Oh, and I used to fill my Mustang up with Mobile 1 (5W-30), does the Z take the same? And can anyone give me K&N part numbers for the filters (oil/micro/air) for a 2003 Z. Thanks!

Shahrum,
Quite a few members here are using Mobil1 5W-30. I will use it this coming Sat. when I have my car for the first oil change. The Micro fiber filter is located somewhere inside the cabin; i am not 100% sure. I dont exactly know what its function really. the part number for the K&N OIL filter is HP-1008

Oh ok, maybe to filter the air that you breathe? Thanks for the part number! Anyone know the part number for the K&N air filter for the Z?

I dont believe the Z has a micro filter. Those notices are for Nissans in general, some models have them some dont.

Oh ok. What is a micro filter? I told the guy at Nissan that I had a Z, but maybe he was just referring in general like you said.
