Help Enthusiast, Performance, or Touring???
Ive been registered for a while, hanging around, but i think this is my first post. Im lookin to get a Z in the next week or so and i need you guys opinion on what the best model would be in my case.
I want to keep my range around 30k because i was planning on financing my sales tax. So obviously the Track model is a little more than i want to spend. I was going aftermarket with the stereo, so the Bose stereo that comes with the touring model would just sit im my closet somewhere. So i guess it comes down to whether or not the extras on the performance model are worth the $$$ over the enth model? TIA

only difference between enthusiast and performance is the 18" wheels and VDC right? well considering the Enthusiast is $2k cheaper than the performance. Unless you want VDC and REALLY REALLY want the 18" wheels i would go with enthusiast. Spend the extra $2k u saved and get some wheels and or get some leather if you want that..

Either buy an Enthusiast now(best bang for the buck) or wait until the 2006's come out and pay the same price for the performance. I guess it all deends on how much of a hurry you're in. You could probably get a sweet deal on a 2004 performance now.

i'd say go w/ the enthusiast as the z even with the vdc isnt a good winter driving car anyway, and yes all the 05's come with the tps. and the enthusiast comes with the tcs anyway, almost the same as the vdc so it does come down to that the enthusiast is the best bang for the buck z considering with the money you save u could buy nicer wheels than the performance model comes with anyway

Thanks for the replies. I live in st louis missouri so there is some bad weather, but the Z wont be my daily driver. I was also lookin at an 05 so im not too worried about the tps since i read it comes standard. so i guess its gonna come down to if the VDC is worth it? Could someone describe what it does? from the description on nissanusa.com it seems to function alot like traction control. What ill probably end up doin is goin enthusiast then gettin custom leather and a set of nice wheels when spring rolls around.

VDC is working differently from TCS as far as I know. To prevent wheel slipping TCS cuts the fuel off. VDC uses brakes in order to keep the car moving staight when it's trying to fishtail. There is a nice animation on nissanusa.com that explains it in more detail, I think.

I picked it up today .. 05 SS enthusiast. Its my first time driving a stick, but my friend who is an autocross nut got me started. im already decent at it...after about a hour of working on first and second gear I could comfortably cruise the streets . All i can say is its ssoooo much fun to drive and im not skilled enough to push it anywhere close to its limits...Ill post pics when the initial shock wears off.
