Dyno'd the stock 5AT today. Right where I expected it to be - including the lean A/F

How much lower is that compared to a stock 6mt? Automatics have a huge power loss due to the tranny.. cause dang those numbers really show it.

That's pretty much a myth on modern auto's.. Only about 10 less than an average manual on a Z. I wouldn't call that a huge power loss.

What's your point? I'm not a dyno sheet racer. The point was to have a baseline to compare against as mods are added. I also want to make sure the A/F is kept in check.

That looks like a low-end rating for the auto... I've seen them closer to 230 in whp, and around 220 in wtq. For comparo, my baseline is a low-end number for a manual -- 230whp/230wtq.

phh, my stock 5AT dynoed at 234/228

dont spread bull about ATs being slower than MTs. With the Z, it isnt true at all.

That dyno probably just reads low!

I see a lot of people throwing around numbers without stating the correction factor. I can throw up my STD corrected graph with no smoothing and show 230hp right now. SAE + 5 smoothing on WinPEP is going to be the lowest reading, but it is what I have always based my vehicles on.

Also, that was the 3rd run in a back to back to back. The first 2 were wasted because they didn't have their tach lead on right and the operator ended the runs around 5800 RPM :(

The Lightning is my baby. The Z is actually my wife's car. The L puts down 435 SAE rwhp/513tq and I run mid-12's with it on Goodyear F1's.. Going slicks this year and a Roush lower kit is on order. Modding two vehicles at the same time really stretches the budget!

STL Lightning, picture of your Z was taken at the track. What kind of times did you get if and when you ran it? I got a 13.89 on a Gtech/Pro. Good for baseline testing, but not like actually taking it to the track.

My wife drove it and it was her first time really. She got a 14.33 @ 96 with a 2.3 60ft. That was leaving off idle. I'm sure with practice and launching at a decent RPM she could run near what your Gtech is showing.
