Default Is there a filter wrench that works on the

Nissan oil filters? I usually change my oil myself and hand tighten the oil filter.

My last oil change was done by the dealer and they cranked it on extremely tight. Does anyone know if I can buy a filter wrench that fits the Nissan filters?

If so anyone know the model number or manufacturer?

Thanks.....Mark.

Oh ya....and I don't mean one of those universal ones with the metal band that is supposed clamp down on the oil filter.

I have never had any success with those things....they suck.

Thank you for any advice...

Mark

I have a pennzoil filter wrench. Its pricey for a oil filter wrench but I promise you itll get the filter off with ease.

umm just wrap a rag or towel around a normal oil filter wrench and it will grab and grab tight. none of them would fit without the rag idea. but it works great now.

Just use a large pair of channel-lock pliers.

Got it for you. I bought mines at the local Nissan dealer and it's a Honda made oil wrench that you put your socket wrench.

Part number is 17009 made by Vector. It's made of steel not plastic (ones sold at Kragen)

I got the Crafsman one that you hook onto the end of a 1/4" socket wrench. It works great. It is all metal and has three prongs that grab the filter.

yep, had to do that a couple times. VERY messy, but works like a charm.

I've tried every method including the screw driver method. Get this pennzoil wrench

It cost me around 20 bucks and you can find it at pepboys. Itll save you a headache or 2.
