Should Nissan promote the Z car on it's own?
When the Corvette was first introduced it was part of the Chevrolet line-up....Chevrolet Corvette. After a couple years it was then promoted on it's own as the Corvette.
Should Nissan do the same with their 350Z sports car? I say yes...what say you? |
Well, I think they are experimenting with the "Z" title, I keep noticing them changing the name in the list on their site from "350Z" to "Z". Nissan will most likely use the GT-R to market the Infiniti GT-R when it comes out. I don't expect much from Nissan other than the GT-R anytime soon.

I’m not sure I fully understand the question. I believe that is the way Nissan does promote it now. (See nis350ztt’s post.)
The Z throughout it’s history been commonly referred to as a Z as opposed to a “Nissan Z”. And it seems Nissan promotes the car as the “Z”. |
its a flagship car. they wont get rich off selling a Z. they only make it to bring attention to their other cars. Im not sure I agree that corvette is marketed alone. I havent seen a corvette along in a commercial in a loooonng time. their doing this whole family of cars thing where the corvette is I guess the big brother or father or something.

My first candidate for most idiotical post of the year.

Better than the weekly ‘what is your favorite color’ post, ‘how fast have you gone’ post, ‘how much did you pay for your Z’, or ‘my insurance rates suck’ posts…. Hey, that would be a good thread starter –what thread on this site is the most idiotic?? There are sure a lot of candidates out there! :D |
marhot....THANKS....The Brickyard Rat is a class A Jerk!
ares...The Corvette is marketed alone as The Corvette.....in other words you do not see the name Chevrolet at all on the car...emblem badge wise etc. Only on the title. You just see Corvette. On the Z car you see Nissan badges front & rear. By the way...even though in Japan and the UK it's called Fairlady Z so maybe it dosen't make sense however it makes a lot of sense to me calling it the 350Z world wide, now that would be monumental in advertising. IMHO |
Rat,
Your post was the one of the most pompous sounding a-hole posts that I have heard. Get a life, ********! |
To me its a Nissaan first.
I bougfht it because it was the sportiest Nissan. I am a Nisan Enthusiast first and a Z enthusiast second. Maxim,a new Altima SER have VQ35 and similiar interiors. Fred..:) |
Not to hijack any thread here, but I think we can all agree that the "350 or g35?" posts are the most idiotic since it comes up at least twice a week
|
what about the "how old are you?" threads?
theres about a million of those :) |
Well, to be anal about it … there are:
6 Nissan badges 1 350Z badge …and… 8 Z badges on the car. (do you know where they all are?) :D :D |

I think Nissan by itself is a very reputable company with a lot of good cars and doesn't need to promote the Z as just the Z to attract consumers. Companies like Ford or Chevorlet don't want people thinking of thier flagship cars as what it really is, a Ford or Chevy. They want people thinking of Mustangs as a Mustang and not a Ford. Why do Corvette drivers say they drive a vette and not a Chevy but Boxster drivers say they drive a Porsche and not a Boxster? Its all in the name. Many car companies have one or two cars whose reputation and popularity exceeds that of the company who makes them, while other companies have names with reputations that exceeds some of their cars. Nissan is a good company and the 350z is a good car. The two names belong side by side.

I know there's a Z in the VIN number. Does that count?
